  1. Lol GFS has that warm sector back it seems, no snow in the southern amber zone.
  2. Not many sea gulls about here either, it strangely quite on the bird front.
  3. I do, it was on the national news, not nice a nice childhood memory to be fair.
  4. I can't speak for what birds are flying east, but probably allsorts, as we seem to have lost lots recently from here. Been really quite a few around till this week.
  5. Just had a new one put in, and they lagged it up straight away, also from experience, if it gets that cold, I'll poor boiling water on it. Advice given to me by an engineer ages ago. Not had any more problems since.
  6. I've not had a drop all day, for a change. The showers or banned of rain, or whatever it is, haven't looked at radar hasn't reached here yet.
  7. The way I understand it, the models always under estimate cold in the se, a warm bias, he expecting us to have a big event. Don't quote me on that incase I've translated wrong.
  8. Such a shame the ukv has been quite bad for forecasting other events this winter. Fingers crossed it has this nailed.
  9. They must have decided it's nailed on then, that good enough for me
  10. Might be where the GFS secondary low came from, over playing hopefully, one of those little kinky troughs.
  11. There wasn't on the ITV news meridian just now either, and they get forecasts from the met. In fact there was a warning, so cue the panic buying, to get anything essential done before the warning starts.
  12. I'm think mogreps, or whatever the model the met office use, looks like the 12z GFS, if that is the case, it's not good for us.
  13. I got some thunder snow from a northerly when I lived in West Norwood, not sure when it was. After 91 though. It was that event when the winds were just perfect for a phenomenon, that sent showers SW from the gap, with a spin on them. I remember the forecaster getting rather excited about this rare thing, it had a name I can't remember. Anyway it was just like a summer storm but with lots and lots of snow
  14. I'll do the same on Saturday evening if the DP is low enough, and I can see where it is. Along the line of don't ignore the weather warning, it's coming.
  15. No wrap around at all, how often does that happen. There must be some ppn where it just cuts off.
  16. 2013, but I missed it, lived in Croydon then. But it only hit Kent and Sussex.
  17. Yep here it was more notable for cold, and hours of freezing rain. At least it did turn to snow for a bit though.
  18. If it does go south, I wouldn't worry to much, the cold will be here, and with the proposed uppers thing could be good. It will definitely be cold.
  19. Yep hopefully that warm front under the cold front just off shore from Kent, occludes or just isn't there, but while it is there, Kent will get warm air mixing in, ahead of the triple point occlusion. Talking about an old met office chart posted yesterday. I'm not sure what they show now though.
