Is it me or does this look like it's going to head South of the Midlands? Unless this takes a last minute shift Northwards I can't see us getting much at all...
It does look to be moving quickly. Is there anything behind the current band? I'm driving home from Coventry to Solihull after an ice hockey game tonight around 9pm - do we think this is going to be disruptive in that area?
Looking to our SE there is a huge band of precip starting to pep up, heading directly towards the central Midlands. Could this be what the forecasters were talking about? Unless the Northampton snow shield explodes it all again then 4-5pm could be VERY interesting.
Unbelievably for Coventry MetCheck has actually called this spot on, with the precip breaking up and leaving us with showers at best. Never mind record snowfalls, it;s a world first for MetCheck.com!
Lol buried in this country is more than an inch! I'm not sure on accumulations as the ground will be very wet by then. I'll be surprised if we even get enough to start to stick!
I'll become concerned with this one tomorrow afternoon at the earliest. Far too much of a nowcast situation shrouded in uncertainty. I could really do with no snow tomorrow night (why only the weekend recently!?) but at the same time believe Coventry will be slightly the wrong side of marginal and see some sleety gunk at best. The NAE charts say we'll get a decent amount overnight but the MET are continuing their downgrade for this event; we'll wait and see.....
Hammering down in Coventry - huge flakes and high intensity. As much as I love snow I can't afford this fall right now so am praying it stops ASAP. Radar looks like about 45mins or so.
25cms from tomorrow's fall or in total? 25cm looks like a very generous guess looking at the NAE 6z! I reckon here in Coventry we might muster up another 5-10cm, particularly if we get a western shift.
Latest NAE charts seem to be shunting back East ever so slightly. Please be a trend and make this an event for the whole West Midlands!

Surely downgrades have to be expected? There's always a downgrade 24hrs beforehand followed by the actual event surprising us. I think they do it deliberately....
I live next to my work so would usually have little problems directly from the snow. However naturally I'm at a function in Stafford and staying overnight, due to drive back Friday midday. I'm very close to cancelling my hotel in Stafford and staying at home Thursday!
I'm in Coventry City Centre and it's started coming down really heavily, whereas it seems anywhere more than ten miles East is getting rained on. As marginal as it gets for us.
Any idea on prospects for this evening?
Hi all,
New to this and simply don't trust the various precip charts that are around the net as they're all different! Anyone give me chances of seeing decent snowfall in Coventry from Monday's event?
