This is true. I suppose it's inevitable as the bulk of the UK's population lives in the southeast, Midlands, northwest and Yorkshire, but it does trigger some eye-rolling when seemingly all of the talk is about scenarios that aren't very relevant to us "forgotten" peoples.
And yes, while I take interest in easterlies, give me an unstable, long-draw northerly any day. They often deliver for the whole of Wales, not just the north and west coasts. Did the Swansea area experience the streamer of Dec. 18th 2010 at all? That was from a northerly with a northwesterly component and there was ~40 cm of snow in the Valleys from that.
Remember it well, walked to the pub for a few "black Friday beers" by the time we left about midnight it was throwing it down, one of the best walks home I have ever had from the pub..we are in a prime spot in the valleys, get the cold in, front from the west, battle ground scenario. Great pictures by the way

I'm afraid we are looking at a particular cold start to March,Hope it's wrong but March seems to be our coldeest month over the last few years.
I don't mind if it results in snow at the end of it, if it's not going to snow then warm up and stay dry

Is it to early to say goodbye to winter 21/22?
Im ready for some warmer and drier weather. Shame really as the start of winter offered so much promise yet it failed to deliver (so far anyway)

Strongest gust in Caerphilly today so far was 51.9km at 14.40
Was that just before the deluge of hailstones we had in Hengoed which turned everything white in a few minutes?

Nice whilst it lasted this cold snap. Can't grumble, ice days, feezing temperatures not seen for a good few years and a light dusting of snow which stuck around for a few days granted it was mostly ice.
Recommend taking a break from the mod thread for a few days, it's raving in there again. Sometimes people need to look outside rather than at a screen for something that probably won't happen 10 days away.
Have a wet and mild Sunday everyone
