GavsWeatherVids is predicting a mild first half of autumn with September and October coming out both warm and sunny.

Good. An Autumn thread.
A lovely mellow Autumn is in order with morning frosts at some points, some morning mists or fog would suffice. Nice cool temperatures with a little wind and some rain now and then as the days shorten and the sun dips beyond the horizon still leaving it's faint glow behind. The leaves falling from the trees as they change from verdant green to brown, orange, red and yellow and as they pile up on the pathways children on the way to school kick them with glee. This is what I hope for......
That would be ideal. It seems like years and years since we had an autumn like that. It's usually an extended summer or an atlantic driven wet mess.
Fingers crossed for something similar to autumn 2010.

Another warm one, autumn is just becoming an extension of summer nowadays, first half anyway.
I'm thinking the same as you. I have a gut feeling the second half will be much colder than the first half of the autumn. This run of above average months has to stop at some point...

As we are over half way through summer I think we should all look ahead to the next weather season.
What are everyones thoughts on the upcoming autumn?

Little change so far still looking at around 12 hours or maybe more of snow for some eastern areas
I had a look at a snow depth chart and we are looking at 9cm by 21:00 in the NE on Monday, 16cm in eastern Scotland, and 11cm in the London area
how much for west midlands?

Hopefully November will be the month where it all changes to much colder weather. Would be happy with that actually, it can still be quite warm and pleasant in September/October.
