Erm not quite, 2008/2009/2010 all had lying snow here for many days, especially 2010, the cold pattern now just isn't quite west enough at the moment but many updates to come no doubt.

Relax man! I have a feeling in my bones there is more westward correction to come.

That's utter rubbish for the south west, although the latest forecast I watched on news24 had the west country in the snow with the rain/snow line down in Devon, I'd say it's safe to say that Monday's event is still far from nailed on just yet as to how far west the snow will be.

Sorry West country. Always gonna be difficult to get snow in yby (your back yard). Hope the cold pushes 100 miles further west so we can all join in the shenanigans.

With the ECM starting to swing.it looks like the temps. especially in the very south look a lot milder according to the met office.this cold snap might not be turning out to be what everyone thought.i do hope I'm wrong.been model watching for a week now chasing the holy grails of runs.....the runs tonight will rubber stamp the situations

With all due respect, there'll be no rubber stamping tonight. People have been trotting out that old chestnut for days now and nothing is sorted yet. Remember record Shannon Entropy means the models are all over the place.

Hello all. Very long time weather watcher here with a middling knowledge of weather prediction, but first time poster. Why oh why must the NWP keep chopping and changing? Is it this Shannon Entropy (ie uncertainty lol) we keep hearing so much about?
