I suspect many on here will be thinking....... The cold is always 2 weeks away, day 15 etc. You would be forgiven for thinking this way. We all know how it is for long suffering coldies in the UK. However, this time around, I don't see any excuses for any delays or push backs. The second week of January has been the starting point for quite some time due to the favourable teleconnections and then the warming higher up. No excuse for delays now in this instance so if things start to get pushed back from now on, I will definitely start to become sceptical about anything particularly wintry coming our way. Time to reel this one in now. The countdown begins.
According to alot on here we had cold allegedly coming at Christmas....but it always seems to be pushed back and never actually materialises then those posters go quiet. I'll believe it when I see it is my new thoughts on uk cold/snow lol!

She's getting absaloutly buried!
It's about 3ins already
We came through Basildon 1 hour ago and it had just started settling there, here in Rayleigh just heavey rain now turned to snow but struggling to settle as it rained so much. If it was a all snow event here we'd have a good couple of inches already

I am yet to be convinced that the current set up is going to deliver for us in East Anglia, Ed. Proper knife edge stuff at the moment but looking great for anyone Midlands north.
I think we'd be unlucky not to see anything from a east/north easterly,xc's weathers update since last night looks great for here later next week,I think they use the gfs? Its always pretty reliable, I use it regularly for fishing. Great to see the thread buzzing from a long term super lurker lol!

Whilst many on here want the low to be a bit further East (to enhance the snow risk), has anyone thought about the risk of east coast flooding that will bring?
This depression will enter the North Sea at just the correct angle for 'a North Sea surge' if it deepens rapidly enough.
Yes I do remember the 1953 event.
MIA
I think we have smallish tides this weekend....lucky it didn't combined with the weekends tides just gone
