  1. The temps are stuggling a bit, crazy how its not getting colder. Were supposed to be in very cold 850s and the snow should cool the air. Just looked at PITS temps and its up to 1.8c now in Sheffield! :cc_confused:

Seems to have veered more westerly so mebe slightly more modified air which hopefully will change once it veers more northerly later in the night

  2. Chances arent great for us this far east. After travelling across the Pennines the showers are weakened before The Wolds kill them off good and proper.

Theres the chance of the odd rogue one making it over but the best chance for us is the northerly at the weekend.

Yes mate you should do really well out of the Northerly over there which will be a really nice change for your lot :-)

  3. Sheffield is built on 7 hills, some higher than others.

When I was younger and lived at other side of town it was on a hill just a couple of hundred ft up and whenever forecast was for snow on hills I always expected to see some snow and most of time we did.

If forecast was Snow on high ground I always thought they mean pennines, still do.

Yes I think a local forcast of snow on hills would be Pennines though I do feel sympathy for those on low ground towards the coast who missed out and hope some joy of seeing good falls doesn't come across as gloating

  4. Its Snowed here for well over 12 hours but apart from a light covering this morning there's hardly any left. :nonono:  I was including places like east Yorks and Lincs.

I know parts of Lincs haven't had any because I've got family living down that way.

Amazing ! Look at the snow coming over Lincs now now on ths radar I never saw that coming and that chunk off the coast likes like it wants to come to the party brilliant !!

  5. He was probably meaning Rotherham.  :(

TBF Large areas of region have seen very little Snow, seems to be a line from Peak district through Sheff, Barnsley, Hudds up to Leeds Bradford areas, most of places east of these have seen at most a slight covering.

yes it's a real shame it didnt happen slightly differently further East with more entrenched cold and we would have all have been right in the thick of it most of the heavy stuff fell in the Irish Sea yesterday

Also from Barnsley right through to Bently Doncaster have seen some heavy snow and that's not too high up I don't think and quite a larger area than had been suggested
