  1. Looks like you had it nailed before ANYONE else Andy !.... AGAIN Slammer spent all his money on supplies following your recent forecast, however he has nothing left to hire a snow mobile , but being the happy soul you are , I'm sure you can let him have it a IOU basis . Either that or we can all chip in and support slammer . Grey miserable cold muck this morning , awful !
  2. Sounds like fun . Glad it's going well for you and Liza. EVERYBODY TAKE NOTE FOR ANDY HAS SPOKEN. The leader of forecasting in the Wales forum said the cold will return !! Will Andy be right yet again ? Personally I wouldn't mind a very early spring with temps in the mid teens and plenty of currant bun .
  3. Atlantic revenge indeed ! One thing which we all must have thought at some point when looking at the radar the last few days is .... If only that was snow ! Far too much rain forecast again for this week ... Good for business though !
  4. Think thats it Gavla, thats it for our area anyway for the next week or so at least. However i shall be up Pen Y Fan saturday morning ,just hope it wont be heavy rain all the way, and that there is still a snow shower on the peak perhaps. Would guess there must be 18 inch to 2 foot up there now.
  5. Partly my fault. Its not over by a long way, but going by a law of averages , the current forecast , the time of year, you could say that this evenings snowfall may just be the last meaningful event. Hope im wrong !, but its what makes me enjoy each event fully like it may be the last, just a mindset thats all. I said it jokingly at the end of Dec 2010 but it came true for my area anyway.
  6. Todays weather has been brilliant i must agree, plus the forum has been active and its almost usual self, yet it just lacks that real star quality , .....you know, its just not the same without Andy music rampaging through this forum with his charts and analysis....Andy forecast this all on his own before anyone else with no assistance....we all enjoy the fruits of Andys forecast yet Andy himself isnt here or is restricted in some way. Full posting rights for Andy!! We want full posting rights for Andy ................the snow has stopped ! cold shiver runs down spine as that may be it !
  7. Only a few weeks , often just a few days each winter the regional forum really bursts into life, but soon we will just access the model discussion thread now and again chasing deep FI until the first real warmth of the spring fades the memory of the winter. Slight lump in my throat , but this evening may be the last time for some time that this forum is really alive. Its been a bumpy road but we got there in the end, i guess this is almost goodbye for now
  8. Ok , but like anyone, i think you can be bought off...... A winter worse than either 63 or 47 or Cardiff in the premier league?? If still no, then name your price in weather?
  9. still going here, was light but increased a little now. What would you rather Jay....... Cardiff in the premier league or a winter like 47 or 63 ?
  10. The lamposts have more than delivered this winter. Takes them many months, often years to rear there baby snow flakes into fully fledged flakes ready to leave the amber warmth of the high pressure sodium nest. The street lamps in lowland and coastal areas are fine specimens, and will only release their seed when and only when, all external temperature/dewpoint etc ,conditions are met. Street lamps higher up in the valleys and highland areas are much hardier robust but often brutal beings, they release their seed much quicker than the lowlanders ,and occasonally release with such ferocity that the local human inhabitants become imobile after being heavily coated in said seed. I think Swansea now deserves one lampost to be painted gold just like in the olympics, and perhaps other towns and cities would nominate a specific lamp post for this grand accolade also. A golden lampost will generate a feel good factor in the local community and may help avoid a triple dip recession, were this feel good factor to go viral. A flap of a butterflys wing in Brazil can make the difference between full on Atlantic insurgence or Atlantic held at bay..., so just think amongst yourselves ....what could a golden lampost achieve??
  11. Looks a very narrow band though ..... Now thunder snow !That would just put the cherry on top !
  12. My point being , that this really could be the last snow this winter with what is forecast , so make the most of it . Last snow - meaning last meaningful snow event that sticks , lies and builds up to a few inches and is still there the next day around the s Wales coastal areas . Not trying to wind up for once .... ( boy who cried wolf and all that ... Jeeeesus ) Of course it can snow feb march and April , and I hope GP is right . I think of it ,as this could be it till December or next year so enjoying it to the full . However I now have to wait 11 months to show you what I meant . Lol
  13. Not exactly a crystal ball crackpot dear petal. I spent three winters learning from the master of weather ,the one , the only ....,Andy Music . However talk of no snow for two years ,and having other ideas during my time at the Andy music weather school, ultimately led to failure . It's why I'm a lowly lowlander and Andy is up there with the gods at 2500 cm in altitude . Fine flakes here now , petering out .....?
  14. That streamer wafts around just a little , west to east and east to west , ...suspect there will be gaps and no snow periods shortly ,or a streamer of miniscule width whereby next door will get hammered whilst you remain dry . The last snow of winter .... How long can it hang on ... Watching every last flake fall and savouring the moment , as it could be another 2 years until the next fall , maybe longer .
  15. According to rain today the heaviest precip n of Exeter is at a rate of 20-30 mm / hour . Now just 15 mins of that would give 5-7.5 mm or 2-3 inches in 15 mins ... Unlikely but will see ...
