  1. Absolutely fantantic for you guys down in the southeast, its not very often an event like this happens and you seem to be getting the brunt of it atm. Enjoy it while it lasts and keep them pics coming  .Up in the midlands ive only have a dusting so far, ive been craving for the sort of snow your getting now for the last 8 years, i may have to wait a few days for my dumping or maybe another year but im glad that alot of the longtime posters and residents in the southeast on this forum especially steve murr who have been great contributers to the forums for the last few years are finally getting rewarded for there contribrutions.

  2. We have 7 - 8cms lying snow atm and counting, i think saturday will bring about 5cms before turning to rain here

Yep, been a wonderful day here has'nt it. Pretty much non stop snow since 5.00am this morning. Most of the snow depth came from the heavier stuff this morning and although we have had snow all day it has'nt added a great deal to the depth of snow. Goin be a cold one tonight.

  3. The cold spell certainly exceeded my expections, although the cold spell cant be classed a severe, its certainly been the best in terms of snowfall in the last 6 years for my location (people say we had a thundersnow event in 2004 but cant remember that, must of been asleep :D ) Even though the last couple of winters have produced fairly potent easterlies and northerlies they have'nt delivered as much snow as we had tuesday night-wednesday morning, i rank this cold spell better than any of these spells. Quite something considering the dire winter we have had so far.

Its great having snow fall constantly for 4-5 hours, we normally get showers here and there, really enjoyed it.

  4. Well im in the same boat as everyone else it seems. Plenty of snow but it has failed to stick. Started snowing about 7.00am this morning continued till about 1.00pm and then turned sleety now its raining lightly. Just a shame that it was'nt a couple of degrees colder id expect there'd be a good few inches for many if the snow would of stuck. Im not complaining though falling snow is better than nothing. Strangely ive not had a good few inches of snow since 2000/2001 when i managed 5/6 inches in late december. The cold spells the last couple of years have been either cold enough for snow to stick but theres been little snow so no more than a dusting or theres been hours worth of snow but its not quite cold enough to let it stick.

  5. Well i can take heart from reading through here that alot of people have had snow but it has'nt stuck so im not the only one thats had this . Abit of drizzle early this morning which turned to sleet and then full on snow from 11:00am to 1:30pm heavy at times and just when it started to thin out it pept up again ocastionally. Not bad shame it did'nt stick.

  6. woke up this morning at 8:00.am to light snow which had settled in places very patchy. snow showers continued to about 11:00 am quite light in nature but with some heavier outbursts with one really heavy shower for 10 minutes about 10:30am (the heaviest snow shower all winter). 11:00 am till now some light hail in the early afternoon currently dry and cold.
