Decent cold spell, disappointing aspect for me that heaviest snow appeared to be in early hours of Wednesday when asleep!

Current Blizzard conditions just outside Durham

Showers passing to the north/south of Durham at present. Just measured 5 cm on back lawn from very early morning showers, so not complaining. Snow/ graupel is very dry and powdery.

Woke up to a heavy shower and decent coverage here. Let’s hope the showers catch us all today after yesterday’s frustration.

Disappointing so far and any graupel on road/ pavements has melted. Keeping the faith though.

Not long to go now, counting down the hours like an excited kid! As others have mentioned a possibility of the cold to be extended.

Look North forecast said snow flurries for Sunday. Hoping for something a bit heavier than that!
