  1. Good evening folks. Well it's not often the Midlands finds itself sandwiched between MO weather warnings for snow to the north and strong winds to the south, leading me to think the path of the low centre is a little unusual. Anyone have any thoughts on a shuffle north of the system over the next few hours?
  2. The 2013/14 winter will undoubtedly be remembered for the widespread and devastating flooding in the SW and now along the Thames. But with Wednesday's LP and attendant winds likely to be followed by another Fri/Sat, I fear yet more weather memories will be made for the wrong reasons. Whatever the final track and intensity of Wed system, damage and disruption is on the cards it seems.
  3. Evening all. So it seems we in The Midlands are shortly to experience our most potent winds from this truly different winter, and possibly of the century (sounds strange when you put it like that!) I think we can expect some subtle changes in track and intensity in the models through Tuesday, but I suspect the Met Office press release of the 'most likely track' won't be far wide of the mark. Localised conditions could be quite severe through Wednesday evening and the risk of general disruption is apparent
  4. This evenings storms were homegrown. Still waiting the forcing from the wsw overnight to generate the more general storms - get some rest as it might be an early start and a long day ahead!
  5. I'll call it no more than a hunch! Expect something to fire in the midlands from 7pm tonight - mainly around S and W of Birmingham to begin with then risk moving N and E - then expecting the main thrust to be from around 3am - becoming a bit more disorganised through the day on Tuesday. Light the touch paper and get your camera primed - fingers crossed and stay low!
  6. Should see a return to blue skies tomorrow, which may come a few hours too early for our bowlers. Should be a nice afternoon for a 2nd innings turn around though - come on England. Looking good for high 20's on Friday with little if any wind - it'll be hot in the stands but hopefully cold in the glass! After that it seems the weekend and into next week may see a continuation of this very pleasant summer spell.
  7. All coming together it seems. Mid 20's by the weekend, at least high 20's all week next week. Interesting wicket at Trent Bridge as the days progress, could we see a few cracks appear?!
  8. Settled weather on the cards for the 1st Ashes Test, may even need to slap on some sunscreen. Just hope any homegrowns wait until close of play!
