Didn't expect anything here in thirsk, North Yorkshire, but the windows are rattling and I have just seen a recycling box fly past the window! So glad I haven't got the school run in the morning!!!

Hmm, does this mean no upgrade to red then?  I was quite looking forward to seeing that on the MO as it's not often you get to see it.  Still can't rule out some nowcasting and an upgrade to red later as it remains clear that it's difficult to get a precise handle on things.  As it currently stands, the Southernmost parts of the UK are in for a jude awakening.... (get it?!).

The way things get beefed up these day I don't think it'll be as bad as people on here think, the amount of times I've been reading these posts and watching the BBC weather forecast and then it ends up not being half as bad as expected, that's when people start losing trust in the experts and what they say.

Had a fantastic storm around midnight was in bthrm missed the start! it was the best night storm so far, strong gusts torrential rain, fast moving clouds, inbetween star skies. Really is an amazing summer, this is like days and nights of the 80s and 90s.

I must live on another planet as this year has been dreadful as far as where I am is concerned, every time I look at the radars the storms are either Bristol area or London. We had one storm last week with the odd flash but even that was some distance away.

Another cock up by the BBC weather forecast, expecting to wake up to steady rain this morning into this afternoon, it's bone dry here so what happened to our rain, I can understand it being hard to forecast storms but steady rain, come on guys this is about the 3rd cock up in 2 weeks, get it right!!
