  1. Be nice to get maybe a small top up if anything if it does`nt fragment over the welsh mountains.
  2. Also i`ve just noticed tonights minimum temps have been pegged back somewhat from a very cold -5 to a warmer 0 to -1 across the region
  3. Have to say Stockport seems like we had a snow machine feeding in all the showers. Was great to see so much snow falling, most i`ve seen for a good number of years.
  4. i have changed all the batteries and still no change
  5. Hello folks, Sorry didnt really know where to post this, just hoped someone could shed a little light on a problem i have. i own a Oregon wmr928nx weather station which has been preforming superbly until now. The unit is less than 1 year old and i now find i have a problem. Upon glancing at the main display i noticed that there was no temperature report from the external wireless remote sensor (thero hygro sensor). Seeing this i went to check out the outside unit to find that that particular sensor and transmitter solar cell seemed to have a problem. Usually there is a red led that blinks to let me know that the unit is operating fine, this time however the led was not blinking but was on constant telling me there was a problem. I have checked all the power supplies all the connections and gone through the manual to no avail. I have also tried all the reset functions. i was just wondering if there has been anyone else that has experianced this problem and maybe know what to do? What i do suspect is that the thermo hygro sensor (thgr918n) has failed and i need to replace it. Is it possible to replace this unit? and if so where and how? Any help would be very kind, thankyou Robbie
  6. well looking at the radar, the area of rain/snow is slowly progressing ever more northwards. Currently fine rain here in Stockport Cheshire althought we`re just under the very light area atm. I expect that to change as the heavy blobs arrive..
  7. shock...Manchester area and heavy snow mentioned in the same sentence!! on the BBC weather forcast!!!! didnt think it would transpire this far northwards ?? do the models back this up?
  8. whilst there seems to be a strange pattern to the weather atm , i think some may find this interesting..... The storm of November 26-27 th 1703, was the most disastrous to ever hit england, and the author Daniel Defoe wrote an excellent account of it in his diaries. A depression approached South-west England and moved North-eastward across wales and the middlands and into Yorkshire. Gale force south-south-west winds blew on the afternoon of November the 26th, causing widespread damage and flooding along the Severn Valley. The Eddystone Lighthouse disappeared without trace along with Henry Winstanly its designer, who was visiting it at the time. The storm increased in intensity and reached its peak between 2am and 5 am on November the 27th The average wind speed was more than 100mph- hurricane-force- and it is estimated that 8,000 lives were lost, mainly at sea. Twelve men-o`-war were wrecked on the Goodwin sands and 400 windmills blown down. Hundreds of churches were damaged and around 800 house were destroyed. Defoe noted that 17,000 trees were blown down in Kent alone, and an estimated 4,00 were lost in the new forest. Further damage was inflicted on craft along the south coast and in the thames estuary. In recent times, the only storm that compares in intensity would be that which battered southern, south-eastern and eastern counties, including the London area, on the night of October 15-16th 1987. Thankfully, only 18 people were killed but the destruction was wide spread Ian D Thomas BBC radio Robbie.
