  6. This was taken in the vale of Evesham on 25th September - the edge of a big Cb that was drifting along the Cotswold Edge
  7. I have a very defective brain. And/or I wasn't paying attention
  8. Wouldn't it be more useful if it was under the 'Appeal for Information' heading on the website? So I can find it......................
  9. Thks for the pictures! I've posted a copy of the picture and a link to this thread on UKww. Paula - if you go to http://www.torro.org.uk/TORRO/appeal/quewwtxt.php there's a questionaire you can fill in and sent to TORRO (The British Tornado and Storm Research Organisation) You may well get one of the TORRO members on UKww contact you too...... There were several reports of possible tornadoes around the country at the weekend but that's the first pictures I've seen - and some of the best of a UK tornado ever! It's not entirely clear from the pictures whether it's actually touching the ground (if it doesn't make contact it's only a funnel cloud) but I'd say it looks like it would have done so at some point. Do you know if there was any damage caused?
  10. Hi James - I'm just down the road from you Just a bit of rain left here now, but could be more on the way.
  11. We had a dusting of snow overnight that actually settled on the roads! instead of just cars and rooftops as on previous occasions Makes it the snowiest morning of the year!!! Now, if only we could get a proper covering of, say, 5mm!
  12. For the record, total amount of lying snow in Evesham this week = 0.0mm
  13. Correction: rain has now caught up with the thunder. I'm gonna get wet
  14. Frequent thunder and lightning - for over an hour now. But no rain.....
  15. Further reports of today's storms at Ukww http://www.ukweatherworld.co.uk/forum/thre...?threadid=14139
  16. Hi Andy - that storm is now over the Cotwolds. I'm on the edge of it but over past hour we've had some heavy rain and near constant thunder, though no particularly spectacular lightning as yet. Looks to be moving very slowly NNE so affecting Midland for the rush hour.
  17. The tornado was actually just outside Daventry. I'm sure Paul won't mind me posting a link to the thread on Ukww about it http://www.ukweatherworld.co.uk/forum/thre...=13942&posts=31 If anyone has any more info please do let us know
  18. My other antique centre near Stow on the Wold has been flooded out No other details cos they're too busy to speak to me on the phone! I only rang them to see if the storm had reached them yet. Here in Evesham some heavy/torrential rain but only distant rumbles of thunder. As usual, we've missed the excitement.
  19. Sounds unlikely - there's certainly not been any other reports. However, he may have seen 2 funnel clouds, or, more likely, some trailing scud - which to the untrained eye could look like tornadoes (especially if he was driving at the time).! Unfortunately without more details it's impossible to say.
  20. Aberdeen's welcome to 18c - just so long as it don't send it down here Probably be the warmest it gets there or indeed anywhere in the UK this week!
