  1. We had a thunderstorm at about 8am this morning, accompanied by hail and very heavy rain. I'm in Newton Abbot, S.Devon. Only counted 6 flashes, but they seemed pretty intense; very bright and very loud. By the time I'd decided to get up and have a look, it'd gone Most thunder and lightning we've had here for ages; last summer was a let down!
  2. Properly heaving it down now, here in S Devon. No thunder yet though...
  3. Rain just started here. Will wait and see how heavy it gets, but judging by the radar, it looks like it could get quite tasty. hoping for some lightning, but not holding my breath.
  4. Woohoo, so it could be our turn down in the SW tonight! Fingers crossed.
  5. Hi all, First post on here, but I was practically glued to this forum and the radars yesterday! Nothing much happend down here in South Devon. There was a glimmer of hope last night at about 2230, as a cell looked like it might develop from the Dart Estuary, moving north towards Exeter but all we got was about 30 seconds of heavy rain, then nothing! It was quite bizarre actually. Couple of distant rumbles at about 0300 today, which I'm not surprised about given the amount of activity to the North. Hoping for something random to pop up from the channel here today; 21C, 80% RH and the thick cloud appears to be burning off. In the meantime, I'm going to try and get some work done in between reading up on "what it all means". I have no idea what a "short wave trough" is! Jolly interesting stuff.
