  1. -4.6c last night , currently -1.7c and beautifully sunny and frosty

It never got above -0.1c all day , i can't remember this happening in the 19-20 years i've lived here, but it happened occasionally when i was in Brum 61-89...so i suppose i've just witnessed my first North West ice day

Currently down already to - 1.8c...could have the coldest night so far this winter, one night in early December it dropped down to -6.9c

  2. A trip on the A170 & A171 to the North Yorkshire Coast. Had to contend with difficult driving conditions from 9am -> 4pm when I headed back home. Snow was settling all day expect right on the coast. A171 was closed for a time so I had to turn back. Best of the snow was between Pickering and Scarborough on the A170 which was just about passable. Several Inches in favored spots. Many minor accidents on the roads.

Those pics are out of this world , i can only dream about such scenes  :D

  3. Forgeting all the technical data, my observation for August is that it was CRAP! Lol :):)

I have to agree (although i may have used a more graphic term  ) , but i was fortunate in the sense that i spent 16 days of it in Sunny South East Spain B) B) , the 1/2 a month i spent in wet wigan was awful

  4. Well , having returned back from South-East Spain yesterday after 16 days of near perfect weather (Sunny and temps maxing at between 29c-33c), i was hoping for a bit of nice weather to ease me back into reality , but all i see is anti-cyclinic gloom, i have kept in touch via Sky News whilst out in Spain and i know the the weather has been pretty poor over the past couple of weeks (and the summer in general up here in the NW)... as far as i can see there is no prospect of any settled weather unless you really journey into F.I.....Ah well i'd better go and cut the jungle down that has appeared in my back garden..and dream of the 27th October (when we go to Egypt for a week!!! B)

  5. There was a puzzling mention on the NOAA site for Manchester Airport mentionning "smoke" as the weather conditions during an hour yesterday, now I understand. I was walking next to the Trough of Bowland yesterday and it was bone dry up there, you could walk on the bog terrain without any problems, in fact you could have done the walk in white trainers and come back with them fairly clean...

Yes i saw that , it had me baffled , there was also a smokey smell in the air here in Wigan yesterday , it was only when i watched the local news last night that i realised it must have drifted across from the moors..Hopefully the rain has helped to put it out

  6. After a glorious end to the day yesterday when the temp reached 21.3c in my south facing back garden (we even had our tea outside at 6.00pm), Today is the opposite , torrential rain since about 7 or 8 this morning (thats when i woke up), still mild but very very wet   No BBQ for us today
