Well, where there is a little curve over the Irish Sea. That is shown as a centre of a Low Pressure system on the netweather radar.
Behind the Squall Line ~ and South West of the Centre of the Low, winds gusts appear to be around 65-75mph.

Wish I could show you, according to netweather Extra. the 990mb Low Pressure is Centered over Isle of Man.

guys this Low Pressure in the Irish Sea currently. What sort of wind speeds will it produce as it goes over Northern England? ~ It will surely hit in 1-2hours!

I'm looking at the netweather Extra Radar and checking out the surface pressure charts. Hopefully I can get the wording right.It looks like, behind the squall line, the secondary Low pressure system that was showing on some weather charts yesterday is forming in the Irish Sea.

I saw this little low sub-low pressure on the forecast charts yesterday, but it wasnt showing as a low pressure then. Now it does look like a dangerous potential storm.Looking towards Christmas day it is almost impossible to know the positioning of those storms... and if you really want to look at the 27th December.! Ouch!

Living in the South East valleys, it is very common for me to see lightning flashes and not hear/only faintly hear thunder. If the lightning strikes on my side of the valley.. I hear it.. if it doesnt, I don't!

Wales didn't get away with it either.. Power outages, trees down and flash flooding, ~ Looking at the position and intensity of the coming low pressures, there will be a lot more of this with it also being potentially being = or worse than the 3 storms we had through October-November. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-25444386

I was waiting for my bus in SE Wales.. and the wind was picking up .. fairly gloomy skies.. What I didn't expect were the size of the rain drops. There weren't many but any we got were typical of those you would find in a hot summers day Thunderstorm.

I think Christmas Eve should have been included in this topic! Over those 3 days there looks likely to be Low Pressures spinning around eachother.. like a Multivortex Tornado!How often do we see such "Deep" Low Pressure systems on our shores?

So, 2 Lows in the Atlantic developing.. One looks set to hit Southern England on Friday .. (looks quite unstable) A day for thundery downpours perhaps.. Then another .. much deeper Low is currently on track for Saturday (also much further North)... looks quite fierce at the moment.. !! Definetly will have my eye open !

I can just imagine people coming to and from Ireland for Christmas shopping and getting caught in the wind storms.. getting people trapped. Rail services disrupted, Planes grounded. All of these things just being logistical. Power outages over Christmas? Flooded homes.. All these things pose a risk to life. People need to be warned more than we are.
