  1. I read the DM and Guardian online somtimes.

    Like reading the comments.

Is the Pole Vortex Split likely? I saw someone mention it earlier but no one picked up on it. I'm guessing that would make things colder, because of the jet stream? Sorry I'm still new to this, but learning slowly.

  2. The "big freeze" is going to last a month according to the express, yesterday it was going to snow for 100 days

Nathan Rao can't seem to make his mind up

And before any of that we are still awaiting the "Record breaking snow predicted for November" he said was coming back in October

Press would not hire someone if they were honest. If someone gave honest weather forecast, they would be asked to spice it up, failing that would be replaced.

I know it easy to blame the likes of Madden. But you can't expect him to lose his job, simply to give real forecasts.

I wonder if some of them have hidden meanings? Like the colder your saying its going to be, what you mean is the milder its going to be and vice versa.

So a really cold Winter forecast Headline would go something like "Brits bracing for Indian Winter as Holiday makers plan to rush UK Beaches on Christmas day."

  3. Considering no one puts chains on their cars during heavy snow, instead relying on snow trucks to salt the roads. It's no wonder anything with a bit of snow is considered devastating.

If a mini ice age began, everyone would have to learn to ski to work and breed some huskies. Would be nice.

Salt on the roads looks disgusting. A mucky muddy mess that poisons trees near to roads. Roads look so nice not gritted and perfectly safe with snow chains. Here gritted roads also give a false sense of security, with people driving like they would on a summers day.

James madden has posted this on his website.

The dominant conditions of largely unsettled weather and strong/severe winds is also likely to continue into November, in particular, around bonfire night. This will also bring the additional risk for some further violent storms and hurricane strength weather events throughout the first half of November. November is also likely to turn significantly and progressively colder than of late. This will allow some wintry/snow showers to develop in places, with an increased risk of more widespread snow developing across the country, especially in the second half of the month in some northern and eastern parts of the country.

Now I am mad. He promised us glaciers forming in the UK this winter, a month ago.
