  1. We now have heavy/thundery rain here, but no thunder & lightning yet.
  2. First bursts of heavy rain now - radar looks quite colourful to our south. No lightning/thunder observed/heard yet.
  3. It does have the feeling here of possible action later, some quite dark clouds interspersed with bright areas - but the sun ain't sunny now.
  4. Bit of a shower showing up at least on radar to the west of Aberdeen, with the main rain band down the west coast and another area around Inverness/Black Isle.
  5. Some healthy showers just passed through here in quite a narrow band. Lightning plotted north of Aberdeen but not in the city itself.
  6. Quite a rash of showers roughly in a triangle just SW of Aberdeen - Deeside then down towards Dundee. Northern part of Aberdeenshire clear for once!
  7. Morning to all. Quite misty with fog patches here presently, and barely any wind. Showers in the forecast for later but I don't think anything thundery - we shall see.
  8. We had a few heavy showers today including hail at least where I was. I didn't hear it but one or two work colleagues mention hearing one(!) clap of thunder in the late morning, possibly in the vicinity of the airport. Clouds at times looked very threatening but ultimately I think we escaped the worst in the main here. Currently bright/sunny now with a wind from the NW.
  9. Mr Frost you live in a beautiful spot! Keep up the great photos across the water!
  10. Good luck to those that get the light show today, and not hopefully too much flooding! We had one low, long rumble of thunder out of the dark at 1am or thereabouts early this morning. No rain & no other audible rumbles that I heard, just that one. Very strange. Re the flutterbies I touched on, seems it's a once in a blue moon event - all up & down the E coast & inland. I blame global warming myself!
  11. Was a beautiful day here, sunny +23. Cloudier now, but still dry. Never seen so many butterflies! Painted Ladies I think they are. Walked through a cloud of them this morning!
  12. Nice day y'day - today cloudy, later drizzle, later later possibly turning foggy. Need to keep eye on the harbour webcams. EDIT: now quite a brief heavy shower, like turning on & off a tap! Wasn't in the forecast I don't think but it is cloudy & still humid here. It's gone off as I type.
  13. Hot, humid, sunny day here today. Was at least +25deg, Dew about 18/19. Office fans were on full tilt! Bit cloudier now, heavy showers in the forecast.
  14. Meh 2! No storms passed here overnight as far as I'm aware - certainly wasn't woken up by anything. Right now it's hazy Temp17/Dew 16. Rain due in the early evening but whether it comes electrified I guess we'll just have to see. Been a fascinating month-and-a-bit for most of us for sure though!
  15. Strange skies here at the minute but still dry. However Aberdeen Airport TAF has added the risk of thunderstorms from midnight, which wasn't there before.
  16. Same as Howham - heaviest of the rain has missed us so far, either side of us. Ditto the lightning.
  17. What a beauty Howham! We've missed the lot so far!
  18. Thanks Mr Frost. It's turning quite foggy here now (earlier than forecast).
  19. Oh yes! Rain heavy - very heavy. CB overhead but no lightning. No wind to move the showers in any great speed so could last a while with the potential of flooding. EDIT 1800: I would call it torrential rain now, and going nowhere very quickly. EDIT 2 1830: Rain more or less off now, for the moment. A bit brighter.
  20. Never get tired of Pitlochry & surrounds.
  21. Wet and grey. Similar to Howham's in fact!!
  22. Nice enough day today, much fresher (mid teens) with shower clouds - we had a couple of passing light showers this afternoon. But mainly bright otherwise.
