Proper snow flakes now, temp still 1.4c and dew point 0.8c. Am going outside to get snowed on because, if it's stopped in Wallasey, it probably won't last much longer here!
-
The temperature fell to -4.5c last night, but rose rapidly through the morning as it clouded over. It's currently 1.4c, but, to my surprise, it's just started to snow very lightly.

New thread here...

As dearest Shuggee has said before... 'Please use this thread to have a good old chat about the prospects for something wintry in north west England.'
And, as so many others have said through the years... "Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!"
Oh, and just a little reminder, while the servers are stressing, can we continue putting our locations in our posts. Thank you
M'Lady in wintry (at minus 0.3c) Waterloo.

It should be with you soon, you are a bit further West than me. Just checked the radar and there's a big blob of pink on my postcode and out towards the River Mersey?
That's funny we had some flakes up here in Southport just before, but it was nothing much, it only gave a slight dusting.
Yes, I've edited my first post - just as I hit post my husband rang and sent me to the window where, to my amazement and delight, I could see tiny snowflakes illuminated by the lamppost and dancing in the breeze.
-
Yes, as Jan says above, it's snowing in North Liverpool... which is nice.
-
One of my nieces (at uni in Liverpool city centre) reported snow about 30 mins ago. I'm a few miles up the coast (between Liverpool and Southport) and we've had nothing.
Temperature currently 0.4c
edit... as I hit post my husband phoned to tell me it was snowing on him (he's just driving home and is 5 mins away). I went back to the window to check ... and there is snow visible in the light from the lamppost!! Tiny tiny flakes, but snow nonetheless.

Trouble is with snow risk forecasts in these showery setups is that you could see a single 30 second snow shower and the 100% risk is fulfilledSnow risk could be defined at a single, isolated snow flurry. I've trumped 100% for the next 3 days, and I've had my snow flurry today lol
Yes, I don't think the emoticon I selected quite conveyed my facial expression which was one of, 'Living where I do, I'll believe it when I see it, and even if I do see it, it's very unlikely to be anything significant, so I'll just be disappointed (again) and no doubt start shouting at the TV pictures of people down south or over east frolicking outside in wintry conditions (again), and avoiding all threads on netweather that contain people showing off about their snow depth.'
Meh.

Wow... the link gives me 100% of seeing snow here today and Saturday.
LOL it goes to Chorley's stats when I click on that link - cookies anyone?Ah, that would explain why it takes me straight to Waterloo. I wondered.
I do like a good cookie.

I use this site, good for local radar, hope link is ok Mods.
Well, we do have radar here on netweather, which we think is rather good.

Morning all Well checking the beeb weather for our area and Manchester, and the prospect is fairly pants leading through to the weekend snow-wise.
Have you tried the netweather 'will it snow' forecast for your area, Louise?
http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=wisi
At the moment it's giving Liverpool a fairly high risk of snow at the weekend. Of course, I'll believe it when I see it!

Welcome to part 4 of the North West Cold Spell (and associated snow or lack of it) Discussion Thread.
Let's keep it light, polite, positive and informative.
Currently 4.2c here right on the coast near Liverpool after heavy rain earlier this evening.
