  1. As dearest Shuggee has said before... 'Please use this thread to have a good old chat about the prospects for something wintry in north west England.'

And, as so many others have said through the years... "Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!"

Oh, and just a little reminder, while the servers are stressing, can we continue putting our locations in our posts. :shok: Thank you

M'Lady in wintry (at minus 0.3c) Waterloo.

  2. It should be with you soon, you are a bit further West than me. Just checked the radar and there's a big blob of pink on my postcode and out towards the River Mersey?

That's funny we had some flakes up here in Southport just before, but it was nothing much, it only gave a slight dusting.

Yes, I've edited my first post - just as I hit post my husband rang and sent me to the window where, to my amazement and delight, I could see tiny snowflakes illuminated by the lamppost and dancing in the breeze.

  3. One of my nieces (at uni in Liverpool city centre) reported snow about 30 mins ago. I'm a few miles up the coast (between Liverpool and Southport) and we've had nothing. :cold:

    Temperature currently 0.4c

edit... as I hit post my husband phoned to tell me it was snowing on him (he's just driving home and is 5 mins away). I went back to the window to check ... and there is snow visible in the light from the lamppost!! Tiny tiny flakes, but snow nonetheless.

  4. Trouble is with snow risk forecasts in these showery setups is that you could see a single 30 second snow shower and the 100% risk is fulfilled
Snow risk could be defined at a single, isolated snow flurry. I've trumped 100% for the next 3 days, and I've had my snow flurry today lol

Yes, I don't think the emoticon I selected quite conveyed my facial expression which was one of, 'Living where I do, I'll believe it when I see it, and even if I do see it, it's very unlikely to be anything significant, so I'll just be disappointed (again) and no doubt start shouting at the TV pictures of people down south or over east frolicking outside in wintry conditions (again), and avoiding all threads on netweather that contain people showing off about their snow depth.'

    Meh.

  5. Last might's mist cleared to bring a beautiful pink gold and turquoise sunrise this morning, rather chilly overnight too with a low of 0.9ºc.
