For the more knowledgable people on this forum, please can someone explain why weather forecasts (bbc, net check) are still saying the temperature will be around the 6 degrees mark?? Are we not in reach for the cold???Are they hanging on till we get closer to Friday/Saturday. Newspapers all starting to emerge with “snow bomb for east” blah blah
East coast of the US mate!

I live in Surrey and am at Woburn Center Parcs today. Woke up to see heavy settling snow. Woohoo!!

What are people's thoughts on next week then?
Thanks,

So we had around an hour of heavy snow and have a covering on the ground in Surbiton, but it's stopped now.
Do we think it's going to snow again this evening?
-
Moderate snow in and around Surbiton and Kingston now
-
It's a good couple of degrees colder outside, however I'm not expecting any meaningful snow today or tomorrow. Perhaps next week but it's too marginal and far out.
-
Isn't Sunday looking rather mild however, around 5 degrees or so?
-
Supposed to be 2 to 4 degrees tonight however there is already a very heavy frost on the cars....
-
Frosty and a bit icy outside where the days ground frost melted this afternoon and has now frozen!
-
Are we expecting it to be windy tonight? BBC weather suddenly showing 40mph winds at 4am tonight.
Thanks,
Mal

Big hail shower passed through around an hour ago. Was lucky it was nice and dry for the couple of hours we were out and about this afternoon!
-
Anyone care to guess what the likely track of the tail end and hook is?
-
More damage here than any of the storms in the last 3 years.
-
The gust just this minute was far stronger than anything overnight here!
-
When can we expect the highest winds? BBC weather app is showing a lull until around 9am when things seriously get going.

All those looking for a Met Office red earning a few days before an event, it's not going to happen. The nature of a red warning coupled with how certain businesses and infrastructure look at them means a red warning will only ever be released when they are absolutely certain that action needs to be taken. This generally means a red warning is only given once an event has started (or at the very most a couple of hours beforehand).
Thanks,
