  1. Looking at this, it may snow on Tuesday evening as the systems clash, and it may be heavy, but it's going to be short lived and not cold enough for anything major.
  2. This band of rain seems to just be pivoting right on top of us. Wish it was snow instead!
  3. If it doesn't snow there's gonna be a lot of let down people here in the morning!
  4. Gone from 8 to 10 degrees in Surbiton :s Just after a majorly heavy rain!
  5. I've just been out for the past hour or so, surely it's far too warm for snow?
  6. I'm going to go slightly more conservative as I feel there may be some wet snow mixed in to the rain at times, but nothing to settle.
  7. BBC Weather maps showing some snow around midnight tonight?
  8. We drove through Ewell Village yesterday, where we used to live. Was very surprised to see the lake and river have toppled their banks. I'll go back and take a few pictures later. The problem there is fed directly from a groundwater spring beneath the lake. They're keeping the sluices closed to protect down river at Kingston, stopping the Hogsmill flowing too much into the Thames. It's only a small area so can see this getting higher and higher as more rains adds to the groundwater there.
  9. Well a damp but frosty morning here. I'm gonna get real withdrawal symptoms if we don't get at least 3 days of lying snow! I relish taking my dear wheel drive car out in the snow lol. Mal
  10. Thames barrier picture seems to be true: http://www.itv.com/news/update/2014-01-04/walls-breached-as-thames-barrier-remains-closed/
  11. Thanks Pixel, explained well for me Ahh thanks for that, was just wondering about F1 too!
  12. Hi guys, I didn't didn't to ask in one of the discussion threads, but what does Fi mean when people are discussing charts?! Thanks, Mal
  13. I'm just on a train from London to Exeter. Some or the flooding in Central South and South West is quite shocking. At one point the train had to slow to a crawl as the water level was higher than the tracks. Lucky it's a diesel I guess!
  14. Are we really expecting any wind here around London tonight now or not really? Cheers, Mal
  15. RAF Saxa Vord (cool name!!) holds the unofficial British record for wind speed, which in 1962 was recorded at 177 mph (285 km/h) — just before the measuring equipment blew away.
  16. Is the squall likely to make it to SE England? Thanks, Mal
  17. Been mildly gusty all day here, however there was just an exceptionally strong gust, it actually made our solid brick built house shake! Anywhere where I can see the max gusts that have been measured near me?
