Surprised the MetO didnt make it a red warning with all the crying going on in here with the Londoners.
Seems there is always one ham sandwich, congrats

Let us hope when man can control the weather, they don't use it as a weapon..

1.053 members online.
That's more than the attendance of the average Stockport game.
And more than fans that stand up and sign for Arsenal every match!

here you go- http://www.xcweather.co.uk/GB/observations
A certain site on facebook told many of its followers to ignore Xc weather as they " xcweather uses low resolution model data btw so is not as accurate." is this correct?

My goodness, it's a tiny bit windy in Wetwang (*childish giggle*)
803 mph, best get the kettle on and a stronger Brolly!

Too early to beef about the lack of wind Bovril. Give it a few hours and it will have beefed up and will stir people from their slumber, if they aren't spooning on Valentine's Day still that is.
Beef and Bovril, I see what you did there

20 mph winds in London as well, seems a lot of over reaction. Supercomputers can't beat sticking your head out of the window at the end of day!
-
Yes this is exactly what I'm thinking.
I think people who live well inland are so unused to strong winds that to them, a gust that would blow a small twig 5 meters along the floor must feel like a full blown hurricane.
Hardly a breath of wind down here, it's very bizzare
Same here, the rain as been non stop since about 2pm, wind though as been the odd gust as best.

Just looking at the winds on xcweather and it's mad now how I don't think 76MPH is bad. Become numb to this bad weather!
Maybe you need to refresh that page, says max is 61mph for your area. Same as mine been downgraded 2 times this afternoon.

XC weather just downgraded Gusts for north London by 8-10 mph over night. Not surprised at all, not been to bad here all day.
-
Wind gusts are much lower than forecast on XC weather up to now for here, highest being 27 as opposed to 48 for 3-6pm on their site.
Does this mean there is a good chance it may not be half as bad later as well?
I am watching http://www.casa.ucl.ac.uk/weather/ for London, not sure how accurate this site is.

Rain as stopped and complete calm winds here now (North London) Guess this will change later again though.
-
Highest gust in London as been around 27 mph it seems, rain seems more the problem at this moment.
My son as a football match tonight outdoors, hope it gets called off.
-
Picking up in North London now just had a gust of around 55mph.

The storm for Wednesday could well be the stormiest day for many years, for central England, that's even not thinking about the rain and more floods to come....Worrying times Im afraid....
This looks like the winds in London won't be anything to worry about now? Gusts look like all the other storms for here up to date now, that is a relief, hope it downgrades for rest of you as well. Stay Safe!

We have been very lucky in London up till now, escaped 90% of the bad weather almost feels like we're in a different country.
The model runs posted a few pages back for next week looks like our luck is about to run out?
-
Turning rather nasty here now. Rain does not seem to heavy but the gusts are strong.
-
I told you. Worse than expected. Like I said. Something about this is unnerving.
Sounds wrong but I been waiting for this storm all day, hope everyone is safe same time I am looking forward to next hours.
-
TORRO warned earlier today about tornadic weather. Wouldnt be surprised if something is spawned off in the next couple of hrs.Extremely dangerous at the moment here. Do not go outside.
In which area? everywhere? lot of people reading here because TV wont tell us super duper.

Just hit 60mph gusts here, picked up very quickly.

As a 30 year old man I am not ashamed to admit I'm a bit scared this evening, 4 storeys up here in North London.Anec dotally, comfortably the worst storm of the year here and probably even for a few years.Horrendous.
North London here also, you must be up in the hills apart from a few gusts nowt to speak about.
-
Not sure ok to post outside link but according to this site http://www.casa.ucl.ac.uk/weather/
we've not had a gust all day past 54-56mph at 1pm.
No rain apart from patches either. Looks like I live in a charmed area.
-
Hardly any rain here, gusts of wind rattling windows but still nothing I would not expect in December.
