  1. The thunder storm I remember was the Ottery St Mary hail storm of 29/10/2008 to 30/10/2008. The storm lasted for hours with frequent thunder and lightning and torrential rain in Newton Poppleford. However, in Ottery St Mary they didn't just have frequent thunder and lightning and torrential rain. Also, they had several centimeters of hail. It was the worst thunderstorm to hit Devon in several years. But, what was strange is that no thunderstorms were forecast that night.

  2. GFS 18z brings a somewhat downgrade in the amount of CAPE, however I find the GFS does downgrade in the amount CAPE avaliable on the 0z, so I still believe that there is a very good chance for a few decent storms today.

    Hmm, that doesn't look so great. You might be setting your sights a little high. We'll just see what happens. Though, I doubt that anything will happen, here.
