Already been a tree down here near the cemetery, friend has just messaged me saying the Police are in attendance. I didn't think it was that windy but I guess the side of the hill must be in the direct firing line.

Thank goodness it's not bin-day... might have a morning walk down to the seafront in the morning.
I am 30 seconds from the seafront I am just hoping the seafront isn't blown any closer to me.! X

18z ARPEGE is a tad stronger than the 12z especially for the Bristol area. A tiny patch of 140 kph there I think which is 87 mph.The whole of that area under the purple colours has gusts to 68 mph and above. Such strong gusts make it as far as Reading for around 8 am.
As Katie exits the UK, the southern reaches of the North Sea become a nightmare.
87?? I am just at the top of that patch of purple... already there is a tree down the other side of town and it isn't THAT windy. I hope that doesn't come to pass.

Windermere showing 2.53m at 21.45 tonight... wonder what it is now??

I think we may be missing some members, looking at this map...
https://www.westernpower.co.uk/Power-outages/What-s-Happening/Power-Cut-Map.aspx Yeah the south west too. x

Clocked 40 mph on my anemometer at 7.45pm just outside my front door. I was only outside for 2 minutes.! x
-
Damn. I knew I should have brought my anemometer with me to work. I was going to walk down the sea front on the way home and see what speeds we can get up to. Starting to get rather gusty here. X

Estofex is out for 0600 tmrw, and has me almost dead centre on a 15% lightning chance. But I can't understand why.! X
-
Where on earth did that spring from... I happen to look out of the window and see a few lines of almost text book AcCas and then it suddenly starts raining huge drops of rain, I get up for a closer look and the southern sky is a mass of undulatus!

Humidity is ridiculous in Weston and mammatus passed here a short while ago. Some strike moving through North Devon now. X
-
Wow gone very dark now. Mammatus too!
-
That Northern France sferic doesn't seem to have any reason to exist according to the radar. X
-
Hmmm well a maybe is better than an unlikely......!
I am out in town tonight so if anything kicks off I shall try and get some sea front photos. It's really humid now right? I'm sure it wasn't this bad earlier. X

It had gone relatively cool and breezy but now the humidity has really jumped up and the heat is starting to build too. Still got a strong wind from the south at a good rate. Had some AcCas start to appear during the F1 practice so about 3pm but the sky has now cleared and has some lovely high level cloud which seem to show updrafts. X

Hmmm. This happened last year... due for overnight storms when I am going out with friends, last time I passed out and missed the whole damn lot. I do it kicks off before 2am, if it does at all. Got so many apps saying storm warning but have had that all week and not so much as seen a single flash!! X

Now, if it could do the same and travel along to Weston-super-Mare and do the same, that'd be a treat.
I am 100% behind this. It's been so warm and moist today I think we of WsM deserve a good shouty, flash thing.

Well I have so many apps now showing whacking great lightning symbols I am building up a little hope for Friday. Typical it's going to kick off when I have to work rather than the two weeks off I have either side. Weston seems to repel fun weather so it will be intereting to watch the radar Friday.
Met office has changed from storm to rain again though. Good luck folks.!
-
The biggest storm I have ever seen down here started at 3am and was continuously firing until it REALLY kicked off at 8am. Finally blew itself out around 11am. 2001 I think that was, absolutely insane. For late day events it has always been rather poor down in the Bristol area since 2000 for some reason.x
Edit- quoted the wrong post, oops, removed it.

I thought lee wind was where air movement over obstacles accelerates or twists causing an increase in velocity and vortexes that can do more damage than the wind itself.?
-
Now there's a a PTY at K5 buoy, -19.1
That is impressive.
Sorry, I am being a bit dumb.. PTY stands for???
