    Shall I put my snow shovel back in the shed yet? Am I right in thinking Stockport is looking a bit too far to the east to get significant falls? Oh the confusion!

    How's Stockport looking for this event? The BBC weather site is only showing light snow showers for Friday/Saturday here Is Stockport a bit to far to the East to benefit?

    Just watched the local and national weather on the BBC, they both seem to be hinting that for us in the NW, it's looking like a bit of a non event and that they are more concerned that any disruptive snow will be confined to the SE

    I wonder if we'll get anymore snow in Cheadle tonight? Current temp -1.5C dew point 0.0C just been outside for a fag, very icy and the wheelie bin lids are all frozen shut :smiliz65:

    I think Woodford is staging it's own "Day after tomorrow" event, a drop of 10 degrees in 3 hours!......is that possible?

    Could Woodfords -12 be a correct reading?.......just been outside and it's bone chillingly cold in Cheadle

    Woodford weather station has obviously blown a gasket!!!.......now reporting -12.3

    Woodford reporting -8.8!!......that's a drop of 4.5 in an hour!

    Temps dropping in Cheadle, +0.3 at 9am, down to -0.4 now, with a few clouds popping up.

    Looking at the radar I think this snow event has a lot more legs for the NW, the way I see it there are two weather fronts merging on the NW, one is a streamer coming in from the Irish sea and the other is moving in our direction from the north, if these two collide, and it looks like they might. we could have a hell of an event tonight! Then again......I know sweet FA about the weather reaaly, I'm just calling it as I see it

    Look at what is heading in a southerly direction from the north, and look at what is streaming in from the Irish sea......this could just be quite an event for some of us in the NW !

    Is it just me, or is that a lovely looking streamer setting up across the Irish sea?

    Yup....about 3-4" here in Cheadle, and looks like we might get another hour or so of decent snowfall, still coming down heavily!

    Gotta love the BBC forecast.......sleet showers for SK8......we've had about 4" of snow in the last 3 hours

    Amazing result here in Stockport/Cheadle.....a good 2-3" fallen already and still going strong!

    Temps still sneaking slowly downwards here, currently -0.9 and snowing heavily, no sign of sleet or rain.........yet!

    Just starting with a heavy snow shower here in Cheadle, and the temps have just started to drop ever so slightly.......looking quite good at the minute

    Snow is hammering down in Cheadle......has been for the last 20 mins or so, this is really unexpected, considering the forecast was for mainly sunny weather with the odd wintry shower. Not that I'm complaining!
