Yep terrible forecast, currently thunderstorms rumbling across Cornwall and a line just south of Exeter.
The yellow warning is clearly positioned over Devon and Cornwall.
So, how is this wrong
The constant Metoffice bashing on here is seriously peeing me off.
Sorry mate but this is the rant thread i appologise futher if u work for them

My mate didnt go to the bristol harbour festival cus of the pathetic warnings made by the met office. He lives in south wales and didnt make the trip cus of bad thunderstorms forecast which didnt happen. What winds people up even more is the lack of a apology. Why is it u never hear a weatherman/woman appolgise when they get the weather forecast so wrong.Take the flooding on the somerset levels the way the bbc were talkin about it at the time the whole of somerset was underwater NOT so.The met office and the bbc are as bad as the daily express for ramping things up.As far as im concerned there a disgrace RANT OVER lol

Perfect summer day here today with cloudless skies, a warm drying breeze and a high of 30.5C - the highest here so far this year. If only could continue into August.
No chance summer over in a few days good ridance

I can see both viewpoints on the one hard it is a bit harsh to moan about the current weather, but if the weekend is cloudy after this week, I can understand the frustration.
u could add a 3rd view point and id like to be in the totally delighted that its cloudy at the weekend camp

this summer has a very long way to go before it ranks alongside the great hot summers cited, with a hot spell of about ten days 2014 is miles behind so far.
the crucial , pivotal point will be what happens after this weekend. atm the models are unceratain, some suggest a carrying on with the warm dry sunny anticyclonic regime as the azores high ridges in again... or the azores high doesnt make it and we become dominated by the atlantic lows as per gfs 06z today.
personally ill be pleasantly surprised IF this warm dry settled sunny spell/pattern continues into august. 'writing off august' in terms of a continuation of sun/heat? well as ive pointed out, statistically its unlikely to be hot and sunny. that doesnt mean though that it cannot be 'decent' whatever criteria that holds! im guessing warm but not hot, mainly sunny and mainly dry... yep, thats quite feasible.
My Comment (whys it quoting my own comments )
I think many people are getting carried away just because its been hot for 2 weeks. If i discount the fact i dont like summer anyway for a second.I would say summer 2014 has been average at best.I totally agree with u and thats probably the first comment ive actually read and thought yep hes right lol

It's not unusual to get into the low 20s up until the end of October.. so we have plenty of time to enjoy the heat.. and hopefully storms.. maybe a lightning bolt will melt your satellite for this comment
lol melt me Satellite u nasty so n so lol
Id have loved to have read the (removed moderated content) but anyway thanks
I know some of my comments might seem like there wind ups but its not suppose to be like that. Its just i will not be forced into liking Summer weather just because others do.Im sure all the winter peeps are still in hibernation and sooner or later i ll find someone that detest the summer rubish like i do.Im my own person i like what i want and do what i want.
Any chance of some heavy showers tonight or tomorrow just 1 pretty please

Technically, the end of Summer is two months away (September 3rd)September 1st is only used to keep the MO records tidy- date-wise.
Thanks i ll make note of that but i ll stick to me own beliefs helps me cope with this weather i dont want much better.Right time to go back to work

Hopefully the met office wont be so eager to put loads of warnings out this week.No doubt there licking there wounds this week after the weekend just gone foul ups they wont be so keen to put warnings up when its not needed.Hopefully we might get a storm or 2 later
-
Looking for Autumnal after this week with showers or longer spells of rain likely.Hopefully this will last a few weeks and end what has been a pretty poor summer.

Looks like more thunderstorms possible thursday wont get to excited after the met office/bbc foul ups over the weekend just gone.Hopefully this week the metoffice wont put out warnings which are not needed
-
Oh dear, that's a bit depressing. I think we've had an amazing summer so far. Only mid July and we have had several periods of really warm sun, storms (and yes I know some have missed out but generally they have been incredibly widespread) and enough rain to allow the garden to flourish. Still several weeks to go too.
Not really i hate the summer
-
After a very poor few days weather forecasting from the met office/bbc is anymore thunderstorms likely later next week
Looking forward to summer being over tbh
-
Yeah not really fresher here yet either. A few more small storms to our west or SW to my surprise but probably won't reach here.
I notice those not sure which direction there going.Lots of storms over france would be nice if they came NW
-

-
No totally disagree! Did you not get your fair share in Bath?
Yeah some just not as bad as the weather forecasters made it out like it was going to be.Anyway ive had enough ranting sooner summers over the better then hopefully i can get me snow lol
