90 mintues and nearly time for a new thread!
Thats because there's too much area covered by EA and SE.
PLEASE split this threads up! No-ones posts are being seen!!!
-
i can see the headlines london at a stanstill in the morning could easy score a bullseye!!!
Nice. Looking @ this, the Easterly movement is much more than forecast. There's also a "tail kicker" forming in the channel, that, with the present movement, will arrive from South Kent in a few hours, and perhaps even dust SX by the eraly hours!!!h

Just started to snow. Settling on all surfaces, as still below zero.
Gud 4 u! Glad its getting more to the East!
-
Very frustratingly I am in the warm core and it is sleeting now. Hopefully this won't last too long and we will be back in the cold zone soon.
Is there a warm sector? Im more inclined to think its bcoz u r on the coast, & thats to be expected in any coastal loc?

Look@ the radar for 21:00
Too early to say the forecast was way out? - saying deep south only - looks to be moving more east than north to me...
The BBC graphics has stubbornly shown that horseshoe shape hooping over the m4 all afternoon and evening. Wonder if they revise that for the 10 olcock news?
NOWCASTING rules!

yes I am looking at the radar and we seem to have some snow heading right for us, and I thought we were to far east to get any tonight??
Well, look out of the Window, Kay, I think this has come up from the channel, across the marsh...
-
Snow's arrived in Ashford. As to Steve M and others saying Ashford is about the E limit of the precip - well, we shall see.
I wouldnt want to be a wevva forecaster today! (It looks a diff scenario to predict, and changes every time I look at the radar, ie every 15 mins)
How people can people even hope to have this forecast in advance, when its so fluid, and the depression develops right over the top of us? (or actually a bit to the west, in the "Deep South")?
-
Anybody want to give me any idea of what to expect for us lot in the East. Norwich in particular.
Still wondering why EA and SE have been lumped together in one forum .....
-
HNY everyone!
About an inch of snow has fallen here this morning!
-
Yep, then it will freeze like hell, will be a nightmare in the morning!
Why?
Temps are rising behind the front aren't they?
-
Getting a really good covering now...is it going to turn to rain?? Please say no, please say no! (I need to get out more  )
Im no expert, but NW extra "radar" shows a touch of rain behind the main band (estimated to get here in 2/ 3 hrs)
-- so watch the reports coming from the north and the west to see wtf!
-
an inch? we only have about 0.5cm!
people should check their rulers methinks
Hence the other regional threads take the p i s s , with phrases like "Kentimetres"
0.5cm more like it in reality.
In Ashford 0.5cm, 1.2 Deg C and settling on north facing paving, grass & cars.
Really nothing to get too excited about.
Blowing hard towards Brighton, Cleo!
LOL

The speed at which temperatures have increased in some places is incredible, check this out: http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/se/...st_weather.html
an increase of 4.5c in just 1 hour, not very often that happens. Will be interesting to see whether they fall away as quickly later on...
Remember, you heard it from me first...perhaps I should get a new job! :0

Fatyido, your caps lock key is located on the left hand side of your keyboard, just above the shift key. Please press it once.
LOL
You aren't a school teacher perchance, are you?
-
Can confirm what others are saying about the temps- absolutely no malfunction - went outside and was noticeably mild @ 11 Deg C!
Would expect temps to rise throughout the region to follow suit, judging by the track of these fronts / sectors.
-
Has my thermometer broke?
I kid you not, it says 10.1 Degrees Now!!
-
I have seen that so think whats the use of it ?
Def snow here at 50 feet well in side their rain band
Can someone please confirm that the radar I've paid for in Extra isnt actually radar?
That's somewhat misleading then, isnt it?
I was expecting the same as the met office radar, just updated more often. Surely this must be so, right??
-
i think you will find its the windchill that will be cold
Trouble is, its not the windchill that makes the snow stick to the ground and then stay there, is it?
Have a look at the netweather radar (precip type) - and there is nothing but rain across virtually all the country, except for maybe 20 miles or so in the Yorks area.
-
the warm sectos passing through but it will go
Warm Sector? Are you sure you don't mean tropical
-
No real need for a "snow watch" thread in the South-East any more, even!
Temps here in Mid Kent are rising fast. Gone up by a couple degrees in the last 2 hours to around 7 Deg C.
Absolutely p1ssisently raining. Time to give this one up!
-
If you look carefully you will see it is sleet. I wonder when the snow band will hit us?
Seems to me there's a lot of wishful thinking going on in here today...
-
Chichester in West Sussex is considered to be the South East by the Met Office.
..and considered so by the very same people who couldnt nowcast snow last night in their own back yard. Nuff said?
-
Heavy sleet for me now
sqo - whats temp in maidstone? still 3.3 here
-
Lots of fat heavy snow south of Chichester.
The South has its own thread!

Yep, lets hope so! Would be nice not to have to hear about stuff in a different region!
