I drove there this morning, you've had it much worse than here. Dread to think what it's like now. Reports on radio of roads completely impassable.
Blowing a gale here, light snow but still drifting.
Usually it's the other way round. Seems to intensifying again. Must be a level 20 cms now similar to Dec 10th

Has been a memorable week in the Worcester area. Heavy snow showers Tuesday and Wednesday left a covering. Bitterly cold air late Wednesday followed by a real blizzard yesterday intensifying overnight.Difficult to say how much fell as there was a lot of drifting 2 foot drifts in suburban streets, unreal. Today being the icing on the cake still coming down now. Awesome for a low lying city.

Clockwise change is 'veer' eg Easterly to southerly.Anti clockwise is 'back'

i wouldnt worry too much about these charts, the noaa anomaly charts do not support such a synoptic pattern, so is highly unlikely to happen?
However, it is supported by Glosea5, well at least it was a couple of days ago. Height rises to the N/W of the BI

snow in the city looks wet though may improve when the heavier stuff comes throughIt's been chucking it down here! We had 20p flakes covering all surfaces nicely. A bit lighter now, but still snowing. Maybe between 0.5cm and 1cm on the grass now, so already rivalling the best of the mid-January spell. It does seem a bit wet, so if temps rise later in the night it may all have gone by breakfast time, but at least it's here now!
Edit: The Malverns are going to get plastered any minute!

Heading for Worcester? It's going south. We're going to miss it!

Hopefully tonight will make up for last nights disappointment in the sw midlands

Usually do well for T storms here in Worcester but so far this spring they seem to be passing us by. However, judging by the latest hi res charts the sw midlands appear to be in line for the highest rainfall totals up until mid day tomorrow so fingers crossed for some spectacular action

But it didn't dismiss the Easterly completely was it not 50/50 as opposed to 60/40 for the EC according to Fergie on Wednesday?Hi JohnMogreps has a bit of street cred, as it was the only model that dismissed the phantom easterly that all other models picked up on a few days ago.The latest ec32 is probably what the Met update is based on. That wasn't far from the above.

Max of 30.8 here. Can see the anvil to the northwest

Sorry but that sort of thing does cause a lot of confusion/ conflict on here when describing what the models are showing for various parts of the countryhey, here's thought for a few of you.....rather than trying to point score on matters that belong to a geography based forum, how about actually posting on some 'model discussion'.....yes, I know it's a completely 'out of the box' and radical concept, but give it a go?......ta!

off topic but that is a load of tosh, i used to live in northampton and that was never classed as the southeast in anyway, and last i heard yorkshire was northern england[/quote
You've totally misunderstood my post. Dissect the island of BRITAIN not England equally with a sw/ ne line and see which half Yorks and Northampton lie in
-
South East BRITAIN covers a much a much larger area than just SE England you could say it would include Yorks, midlands East Anglia, much of the West Country and even SE Wales.since when is yorkshire in the south east gavin, as i said it will be warm there this week like the GFS 12z is showing why do people keep saying nw/se split that is too simplistic, the models clearly show warmth for the spine of england

A little disappointing and frustrating this event in my location compared with others. Snow started earlier than expectedThursday evening, game on I thought, slight covering by FrIday morning but had turned to rain in the night due to the warmer uppers. Rain turned back to heavy wet snow snow Friday evening settled to a depth of around 3cms by Saturday morning maybe more in the higher parts of the city. Now here's the frustrating bit. Yesterday's dry snow stayed mainly just north of here in a constant stream and it's still there now.willing it to more south just a tad to give a decent covering in these very cold temps. Maybe better prospects for more southern parts of the region by the end of the week here's hoping.

Hammering down in Worcester.nice :-)
-
I'm amazed that places with higher elevation than here have been reporting rain/sleet when it's been snow more or less all the way here in Worcester.Just seen on Midlands today there is heavy snow in Worcester and everything is white already!
-
Yes temps/dew are quickly rising as the day goes on.
Moderate to heavy snow here on relatively low ground in Worcester starting to settle on grass etc
-
You're not wrong it is so close if not here now per the radar but it's doing nothing outside!
fresh covering in St John's now
-
it's here in Worcester nowThe leading edge appears to be breaking up as it moves towards Worcester. I think anyway!
This could be the crunch point!

I think he meant a SE Britain/UK event. It's a common mistake in this forum that SE means SE England only
