  1. Pretty nice day here today, warm in the sun, buds everywhere and the gorse flowering (reminds me of home in Cornwall). We're off to do a bit of the west highland way over the weekend. Bridge of Orchy to Fort William. Initially we were going to wild camp, but I chickened out so now staying in a cabin at Glencoe and in an inn at Kinlochleven. Carrying our own bags though. Hoping to do the full route at some point, will definitely camp then, before I get too old and stiff.

  2. Just had a very weird "there's something wrong with my eyesight" moment while hopefully looking for snow on xc weather. Sure enough for Friday, xc weather appeared to be gifting Falkirk a snow bounty, I blinked and it turned to rain, blinked again thinking "must have been wishful thinking" and it was back to snow, oh then rain again, then snow, then rain etc. At this point I started looking suspiciously at the cup of tea Mr Snowidea had made me wondering if he'd found some dodgy tea bags from way back. In order to retain my sanity (and keep the marriage harmonious) I decided to screenshot the forecast twice. To my relief it does appear to be switching between snow and rain every couple of seconds. Definitely hedging its bets.

Ditto, but the drive up the M9 from Falkirk to Stirling was interesting, lots of debris on the hard shoulder, and some tress teetering on the edge on going over near to M9 junction for Stirling services.

Facebook has some good video of the sub station hit last night, that lit up the sky blue and orange.

I saw a big flash and thought it might have been weird lightening. It was only looking on Facebook this morning that I realised it was the sub station.
