  1. Wow- that is a great web cam shot- I can only catch the web cams at the end of their day over here in California, so it is either a shot of dusk or night time. Conditions look amazing! We are staying on the Eastern side of St. Anton, outside of the main down town area. Interesting point above about avalanche conditions- something to look into.
  2. Any reports from the Arlberg region of Austria (St. Anton, Zurs, Lech, etc)? I am heading that way this Thursday, and am so excited. The conditions in some of the other Alps regions look great, hoping for same in St. Anton. Thanks!
  3. Glad to see that the white stuff has arrived to the Alps. If only it would snow more in Tahoe . . . I did make it up to Kirkwood over the weekend, which seems to have the best coverage in the area if any one is planning a trip to Tahoe in the near future. Blessed Weather- regarding my question about what region Sankt Anton is in, I was more curious if it is considered in Southern/Northern/Eastern/Western alps, as it seems those are the regions that are referenced in forecasts. My guess is Eastern Alps? Also, when storms hit the Alps, how does that affect the train service in the region? We are traveling into the region from Munich by train. Since I just finished reading about all the stranded motorists in France, it piqued my curiosity about how the train system operates in that type of weather. Do the rail lines tend to get shut down, or are they able to continue operations even in heavy snow?
  4. Hello and Merry Christmas to all from California! Has anyone been up to Sankt Anton area yet, and if so how were the conditions? I will be heading that way in February with much excitement as I have never skied outside of the US. The last couple of years in Tahoe have been rough and we know how tough a slow start to the season is- fortunately we are off to a better start this year. Due mainly to the lack of snow I got really interested in learning more about weather forecasts- if any of you are headed to Tahoe check out www.opensnow.com they post a great snow report and forecast almost on a daily basis, and it seems like this is a great spot to find that information for the Alps (I am not affiliated with them in anyway- just a great source of information). One question I did have- which region of the Alps is Sankt Anton in? Thanks, and wishing everyone a merry Christmas/Happy Holiday/safe travels to where ever you are going, and most importantly - LOTS of SNOW!
