Now 1.4C and falling!
-
Heavy rain for the past 2 hours has now subsided, temperatures have dropped like a stone, down to 2.6C from 9.1C just after 9pm!

Temp at 0.3C in Halesowen, 0.4C in Dudley
Dewpoints at -0.1C
Overnight snow has left an accumulation of around 2cms which is still in place, except for roads where traffic has started a melt (no to say there isn't black ice about!). Forecasted snow showers for the rest of the day and looking at the models, that looks like a good shout in my opinion. Not expecting to see any great accumulation but we'll see!

-1.1C dewpoint -1.7C
Light snow in Dudley and Halesowen, very thin dusting so far.

Freezing fog here, rime a feature this morning. Stats:

Halesowen - Currently -1.4C and rising Overnight low: -4.4C
Interesting 24 hours ahead.

2 hours of light snow this morning from around 8.45, temps were just below freezing. No accumulation, the very thin icy layer it created vanished quite quickly.
Now down to -1.3C (dew -2.2C) and falling. A cold evening out there, my car was frozen coming back to it at 5pm after being there around 4 hours.

not all part of the West Midlands had lying snow for most of us soon as it stopped snowing it got washed away in that sense the last few days snow fall has been very very poor for some of us.
I think you've mentioned this a few times but it just shows how varied the climate across the Midlands is. Certainly across the Black Country there has been snowfall and snow lying at 9am each day since Monday. But its interesting to note the effect of the topography, winds and even any urban heat island effect on snow and how long it lasts. 112 masl compared with around 200 masl for Dudley and surrounds surely helps matters if snow is what you are looking for.

Temps 0.2C Dew -0.5C
Moderate snow here, very large flakes however adding to our covering from before. The Cul De Sac road completely covered and as its on a hill going to be interesting for those who need to to travel up it.

Light snow here for the past 2 hours, fizzling out now. Interested to see what this evening brings.
Temp at 0.6C but its been in minus figures pretty much all morning.

I'm really shocked at how large the flakes are, as others have said they are huge.
Temps down to 0.3C, dew -0.4C

Light snow in Dudley for the past 10 mins, temp 1C dew 0.3C.

Taking a measurement in various places, 4cm-5cms outside of where it has drifted or been sheltered. Roads around here where ungritted are pretty hazardous, the hill by the house is impassible for anyone without a 4x4.
Steady at 0.3C, Dewpoint 0.2C

Be interesting I reckon from about 6pm here in the Black Country. Any time from then onwards, I reckon we may see a flake or two.

Heavy snow in Dudley and Halesowen for the past hour or so, starting to really accumulate now with larger flakes.

Bitter and very windy out, really nasty conditions out there. Again, not huge amounts of snowfall but high winds and bitterly cold.
