Possibly heavier snow showers in Worcester within the hour then perhaps in the Black Country by 3pm looking at the radar.
Or even 2pm for the first band.

Gutting isnt it, Do you think the snow just to the south will eventually push through our snow shield?
I wouldn't be surprised if we do get something, but I wouldn't have thought it will be anything more than a few cms if that. Certainly no where near what it was like in December 17 around these parts, but then again that really was an exceptional event. One to keep an eye on, this afternoon we may get something slightly heavier if the showers don't dissipate before then. I would expect Coventry perhaps moderate/heavy would get something this afternoon.

Dudley: Overnight low -7.6C (03.35)
Halesowen: Overnight low -6.0C (01.02)
No real lying snow, only perhaps the frozen remnants of yesterday afternoon's fall of a few mms. The Black Country and the wider West Mids seem to be in a hole around which snow is falling to varying amounts. I'm expecting another ice day today and with the wind, it really is feeling bitingly cold.

Perhaps some snow showers, for the Dudley area, wouldn't have thought too heavy at around 1am tonight. Worcester looks to be in the heaviest area at around that time.

Halesowen: Min -6.5C (05.39) Max -0.7C (13.06) Currently at -5.3C Rate -0.5C/hr
Dudley: Min -6.7C (03.36) Max -1.3C (14.20) Currently at -5.3C Rate -0.9C/hr
Light snow showers all day in Dudley which haven't really settled, but drove to Halesowen to find a sharp shower with blowing snow that has left a covering across all surfaces of a few mm, perhaps a cm in places.
Whiteover leaving a nice covering as the sun sets.

Very light wisps of snow blowing around in Dudley today, temp at -4.4C with an overnight low I recorded of -6.7C. Should be an ice day today and I would think we will get some snow showers, at times slightly heavy from around 1pm this afternoon.

Close, the view is more towards Clent/Hagley. Wasely Hills are slightly further round to the left on that picture.

Just cold rain again in Derby today. As a newcomer to the area, I'm finding it increasingly perplexing how, all this winter, points west, and south of me are having snow and Derby isn't? (I get why points north and peak district do). Today for example, Stoke, Telford, Birmingham, Warwickshire and Leicester have snow. Derby - zilch. How so? Odd.
Perhaps in the rain shadow of the Peak District?

Dudley and Halesowen, Snowing moderately for the past 2 hours, starting to settle. Temps down to 0.8C. The flakes are quite large.

A quite spectacular weather event this weekend throughout these parts. Its surely one to remember. Up to 23cms in Halesowen and Coseley/Dudley. I've been around Halesowen this afternoon and many of the roads, main ones included are simply no go. The snow has been slightly moved by those able to use their 4x4s to get around but I saw many cars which did not have this feature struggling in the left over compacted snow. Most roads round here tell the same story, don't bother. Rush hour tomorrow will be carnage. I believe most schools are due to be closed which hopefully will take some of the pressure off the transport network. Later in the afternoon i ventured up Clent, where as you would expect all roads are treacherous, with up to a foot of snow in drifts. Really a quite remarkable event.

Currently -0.1C in Halesowen, measured 9cms level at 9am this morning. Looking at various radar sites, I can see this being light snow pretty much all day.
-
Very heavy snow here, and it looks set to continue. All roads, even the larger roads on the estate are covered and no traffic. It's getting to over the heights of where the kerbs are on the roads.
-
Quite a bit across Dudley in comparison with previous years. In Halesowen reckon we've had a good 5cm/6cm, which has slightly thawed during the day but down to -0.4C now. In Coseley and Dudley the figure is similar, with around 4-5cms depending on where you look. Again some melt across the day, but now down to -0.6C
-
Nothing here in Dudley, which surprised me a little, I thought we would at least get a snow shower. Overnight lows of 0.1C in Coseley and 0.2C in Halesowen, currently 0.3C.

Hello! First post for me (long time Netweather lurker though). Not sure how much precipitation will make it inland today to reach Midlands but definitely keeping watch. BBC have me down for light snow later so will have to see V cold today though for sure. Down to 2c
Think you and those others in the east of the region may fair quite well if snow is what you're after. Might be something for those in the west, but more so in the East Midlands I think.

Could be interesting around these parts at 5pm today. Overnight low of -3.1C in Halesowen, down to -1.3C in Coseley. Currently 3.1C in Coseley and 3.3C in Halesowen. Dew points are still very low, -2.9C
-
Light snow dusting overnight, now light blowing snow.
Temp: 0.7C
Dew: 0C
-
Looking at the radar at the moment there looks to be a chance of some snow for Stoke, Stafford, Crewe, Market Drayton etc at around 5pm.
-
Light snow, temp continues to fall.
Temp 0.9C
Rate: -2.2C/hr
Dew: 0.3C
Although i don't expect any accumulation this evening, it will be interesting to see what tonight overnight brings as temperatures are now a lot closer to where they would need to be for snow.
-
Sleet mixed with very light snow now and tending to become more of a snowy mix.
Temp continues to fall.
Temp 1.7C
Rate: -1.4C/hr
Dew: 0.8C
-
Temp: 2.4C
Rate: -0.7C/hr
Dew: 1.6CLight rain but temperature now falling quite quickly.

Not loads of snow but it has occurred right on the commute home and therefore the roads seemed to be gridlocked. My journey from Dudley to Halesowen just took an hour and a half.
