  1. jesus you guys it's not life or death, this is a hobby and reading your posts it's like the worlds ending because if may not snow..... get a grip..... see what happens and move on...... it's not life or death...
  2. Just rain still here, not a hint of wintriness.
  3. Nothing but Heavy Rain in Uttoxeter 10 miles east of Stoke not even a hint of sleet.
  4. It's the midlands national here tomorrow, the one day we don't need snow overnight and espically settling on the grass.
  5. Heavy rain all day in Uttoxeter and now some minor flooding in places with what appears plenty more rain to come.
  6. As an example of just how poor the met office automated is, my location is predicting heavy snow between 9 and 11, yet their isn't a single tiny piece of precipitation anywhere in the midlands showing currently. Say no more.
  7. We appear to be right on the northern edge of the snow. Literally 5 miles to the south of here
  8. Check out RainToday radar loop it shows the precipitation in the channel actually building and expanding all the way across to Kent
  9. We have 8cm here. I tend to agree it does look hopeful that we may see some of this from the south but let's just use a little bit of caution. The next hour will tell us everything. The more north and east it gets/builds the better
  10. Am I right in thinking the band on the south coast is much further east and still moving north and building east as we speak, this wasn't what was forecast was it?
  11. Still the snow continues to fall in Uttoxeter, over 12 hours now of steady snowfall
  12. Still very fine snow here falling and blowing around in the wind. We really have fell lucky with this
  13. We are right on the edge of the light precipation but it seems to of picked up slightly and got a fraction heavier
  14. What's actually causing the large area of precipitation that's been there for the last 6 hours? I can't be a constant stream of showers it just appears to be one solid block of snowfall
  15. Really decent covering now, 5cm or more from nothing earlier..... unexpected and very lucky but much appreciated
  16. Full cover I would say roughly 3cm, bare in mind the sun melted everything earlier from today and we are in this narrow stream for the next hour it would seem.
  17. I take it all back, we are absolutely getting battered, the smallest of streamers in a direct line with us and it's honking it down...... I admit we are very lucky the band is a direct easterly and no more than 10 miles wise so really fell in the lucky spot on this one occasion
  18. Tipping it down here on the walk home from the pub, an hour of this would be great
  19. I said this morning that majority of the midlands wouldn't see anything Thursday/Friday and I was ridiculed. We will see no big totals here that's for sure
  20. Can agree with Matt, here at home in Uttoxeter it settles briefly but melts within 30 mins even with full cloud cover. My only assumption is where the sun has shone previously then it therefore has warmed the surfaces even though the air temp is below freezing. We need snow during the evening I think and then for it to freeze to actually last.
  21. Snow now melted from earlier shower here. Despite being minus 2 currently the sun is just far too strong and warms the ground sufficiently before each shower that it won't hang around
  22. Just had a hefty snow shower that has turned things briefly white however it has stopped and within 5 minutes ground that the sun has warmed earlier it's already melting.
  23. A few snow flurries beginning to appear here and unlike yesterday they seem to be settling and staying but I'm talking the merest sugar dusting
