Very windy here, pretty cold and getting colder. Exciting times.
Good news is that the met office have me back to 40 hours of snow (70-90%) and 8 hours of heavy snow...
On the other hand, they now have it starting at 5am and 3 dry hours before that, which is curious, given the mass of ppn covering the area currently and out at sea...
And yes I read the post about how their symbols work, and I know this is all of limited use, but... I'm excited!
Funny you say that my forecast just updated to rain till 4am and heavy snow 5am-5pm and I’m not close to you but I’m not a million miles either

Yay, internet back on finally!
How's it looking for us? Please say no downgrades? I'm scared to look at the charts/radar!
Windy here with sleety stuff, 2.4C. Should I stay up or set the alarm??
Where are you ?

If I was living in Kent, Suffolk, Essex etc then I would be going to bed as I wouldn't expect much in the way of snow until tomorrow morning. Personally I am awaiting tomorrow evening when the wash streamer appears!
Smart idea my alarm is set for 4am in time for the cricket

Morning all . What's people's view on yalding( near Maidstone) . Only reason I ask as based at River level so is this likely to be mostly rain or will snow be falling to low levels?
I’d imagine you will get 2-5cm atleast

Feels a little bit like spring here today and the rain hasn’t reached us yet, amazing how much it’s going to change in the next 24 hours !!
Still a lot of flooding here mainly in the fields and the giant puddle in the train station forecourt that’s been there for about 3 months at least!! So I suspect it will take a lot of heavy snow to cover them areas but as for roads, paths and gardens we could see a very good amount. I’d imagine we will be cut of from Maidstone as there is no way you will be able to get up and down Sutton valance hill and if they don’t grit the roads well enough or the rain beforehand washes it away we could be cut off from ashford as well. Time will tell but this could be memorable guys !!

My predictions for tomorrow....
1 (not weather related) Joe Root brings up his triple ton.
2 Just after that the snow gets heavy for me
3 missis leaves to get the train to work, comes back through the door 20 mins later as trains been cancelled.
4. Go for a walk in 10cms of snow
5 re watch root reach his triple ton

Has anyone else noticed that the beeb forecasts, national and SE on Sunday show temps of +2 or 3c? In my experience that means snow NOT settling!? Why are they showing such high temps?
BBC are very behind, they haven’t updated my local page in 2 days, I wouldn’t really pay attention to them to be honest

Possibly wrong thread but not sure I understand the logic of Meto putting a snow warning out on Friday through to Wednesday and then on text forecast say mainly dry Wednesday.
Why even issue any warnings for Wednesday when even today the warnings are very likely to be adjusted for Sunday.
In many way even the warning for Tuesday possibly a little dubious for the entire region splattered with the warning.
Snow and ice warning so assume it’s to cover the freeze the last couple of days, also showers coming in off the North Sea are something that could just pop up and give another couple of Cm’s and of course streamers aren’t out the question Tuesday and Wednesday so I assume it’s to just cover themselves

24 hours and hopefully I will be watching the cricket and the snow ..... Although beautiful morning at the moment just waiting for this rain to push in !

Kent could get a lot Sunday maybe 10cm and then hopefully some streamers after Monday and Tuesday. Light snow turning heavy in the afternoon for me as the massive bloop of snow looks to stay a while so I’m hoping for 5-10cm then hopefully streamers AFTER Sunday which would be very nice, it won’t be showers on Sunday for most in the east I’d imagine it will be rather constant even if it’s just light

In all seriousness I think blizzards in Kent is a really possibility if this wind keeps up
