  1. cv12 8lh, i tries to pm it but the powers that be said "not today thankyou"

Wow you're really close to me with that post code! I'm 8lx! Where abouts are you?

I just had a nightmare journey to Coventry now everything has settled. Can't even get my car into the garage now so I've had to park it up on the roadside. Not good! Snow looks fantastic though!

  2. Coleshill to the east of Birmingham is reporting heavy rain showers on xcweather. That can't be right? I'm assuming its some kind of automatic reporting system?

Snow still coming down pretty well here.

Lets get some out towards Telford and Shrewsbury now so we can have complete coverage around the West Midlands and surrounding counties!

Well I'm not too far from coleshill and its snowing unless they're all lighting the fires and running the Cannock hairdryer over there hah

  3. Nice to see a much more lighthearted discussion in this thread tonight lol! Its also great that winter has set in now!

Things look good for the upcoming days too but I am relatively happy with the cold sun and dusting of snow lately. I just can't believe how cold it already is tonight - glad the car is in the garage ice free.

I've only been browsing on my phone lately though but it seems that we might get some decent snow in the coming week?

  4. Looks like we're in for yet another roller coaster winter based on the model outputs for the past few days. Oh british weather how I love you!!!

Here's to hoping they switch back to the very nice easterly we had on the cards although I wouldn't mind if it held out until a little closer to Christmas so I can finish some shopping ha!

  5. We've had the heating on in our house in the mornings now! Seems to be getting really cold lately at night, it was 5c this morning when I got in the car... I was shocked and for the first time ... drove half the way to work with my coat on until the car warmed up!! Not long till the first frosting and de-icing now!

I think it's mainly because our house faces north so there's no sun that shines in the windows so it does get quite nippy. For some reason too, when they built our house the living room had 2 vents put in there because of proximity to the neighbours house and the gas fire etc so it gets really cold over night!

  6. I definitely love the heat and sunshine in summer more than anything! Perfect weather for me would be 25-30c in the day and 12-19c at night all summer and then hovering around 15-18c daytime and 5-10c night-time in the winter!!

I think I prefer the sunshine and heat more because I can wear less clothes and just pop some shorts on and t-shirt and i'm good to go!! Maybe I should move somewhere slightly more sub-tropical!

The winter is a pretty depressing time for me, it's cold, damp and grey - not good! It's nice when it's sunny and cold but to be honest, I would rather it was sunny and warm all year round!! I'm definitely in better moods during summer!

  7. Absolutely horrible today, the heat and humidity is really unpleasant. Got to 29.1c today which is the yearly max for 2009 so far.

    Bring back winter!!

Nooooooo!!!!!! I'm all for the winter but in winter!! I'm really happy to see the summer now that there is less rain and beautiful blue skies with 30c outside accompanied by a nice breeze!! Perfect weather!

  8. Absolutely BEAUTIFUL today!!! This is the summer i'm talking about!!!!! Had the shorts out, the sunglasses on and loving it!! Car was showing 30.5c on the way home from work just! Blue skies, sun beating down and smiling faces! Definitely the best weather here that I remember in a while!!

  9. Blimey what an evening!! Phenomenal! :D

Has been constant intense snowfall for almost 3 hours and still continuing at the same rate as I type here in Solihull. (North Solihull that is!)

Must be a good 4-5cm lying on the ground. Quite surprised given the size of the puddles earlier on this evening, did wonder if any snowfall would settle but not a puddle to be seen anywhere.

    Temperature :0ºc

    DP : 0ºC

    Humidity : 100%

Wind speed and direction : 13.8Mph from the north.

    Pressure : 983Mb/hPa (Falling slowly)

Current conditions : Overcast with heavy snow.

For the sheer PPN intensity, this easily beats any of what we had last week, apart from the actual snow depth.

    Phil.

I'm in total agreeance with you, I was really doubting it earlier but have been pleasantly surprised. I'm only 19 and can't really remember a true winter week like the one we've had so far before. It's definitely been a nice memorable one for me and comforting to know that things like this can still happen!

Hope i'll be able to get to work okay still in the morning, made it in all last week so here's hoping I still can haha.
