  1. Temperature currently just above freezing, not made it to 1c yet today. Just walked along the beach, unsurprisingly no-one else to be seen, extremely cold with ENE wind around 25mph, still the odd flake in the air. Either some snow left from earlier or frozen sea spray on the edge of the beach.

Good luck to those desperate for some snow, I'm just happy to take what come my way here on the south-east coast of Kent.

Slow moving is good I wouldn’t be so dismissive it’s unusual complex set up. With snow bearing parameters within the range of interest. We will have to see less favoured perhaps.

Whatever floats your boat I guess and tomorrow might just do that :D. I look at it as several windy, rainy and cold dog walks tomorrow, good luck to anyone that sees any snow out of the set-up, certainly don't expect to see anything but rain in my location.

Yes much rather that than have long drawn southwesterlies /shudders.

Tomorrow still has snow interest for me even in SE of England I know only GFS is interested in some snow on backedge. An interesting set up, we do have winds off northern France which has been cold and snow covered I assume this has all thawed. A cold night ahead here too? I think if it doesn’t steam through and heavy precip has not cleared, some snow too will be possible. But probably a lot of rain before that will be interesting, some elevation too will be of help marginal as always.

Hi Daniel, I would say that is a horrible chart, cold rain, windy, slow moving front maybe a little sleet with elevation in the south-east. Yuk!

i assume you’re going by this subject to change - it’s not mild. Nights probably frosty.

I like that chart, nice early spring weather probably in the range 7 to 12c, the upper end if cloudless, the sunshine is much stronger beyond the middle of February. Often how you perceive a charts depends on what you're looking for, to me that says pleasant and usable early spring day. :)

Thank you for those kind words, Ian. Yes, it's coming back to me now, didn't you post a lot on the music thread, as bjay?

Weird thing the brain and memory!! Do you know, when I came out of hospital, I'd forgotten that my hobby was Meteorology and that I was a member, of this forum. How's that possible ?:nonono:

    Regards,

    Tom.:hi:

Ps. I'm sorry, if I've forgotten to thank anybody for their kind words, on here, today. Getting a bit fatigued, now.

Indeed Tom we used to dominate that thread at times, I think you posted just about every song ever made by Santana :D

All those that are frustrated about missing the showers tonight, you're more than welcome to have a few of the rain showers that have peppered Greatstone all day long :)

Yes, that Snow Cup thing, seemed to jinx our snow chances!! Had a brain haemorrhage/stroke, in Sept.2015, so absolutely no chance of me, engaging in that again, you'll be pleased to hear!! Although, I feel a lot better, still feel very fatigued, at times. The Snow Cup, was probably why my brain, blew up, in the first place!!:D Really did put a lot of work, into that.

    Regards,

    Tom:hi:

Hi Tom, really sorry to hear that you were unwell and relieved that you are recovering, I used to be bjaykent back in the mists of time. We had some fun on here back in those days. Best wishes Ian.

As for the weather, it's been a pretty awful day down at Greatstone, almost constant rain showers, no sign of anything particularly wintry as yet with the temperature currently standing just under 2c. :)

If I see snow falling here, I reckon everywhere else in our region will already have done. I think this is the last bastion of sleety 'warmth'. 5m asl, surrounded on 3 sides by sea, too close to the centre of the low. Proper hairy out there!

Can confirm sleety here in Greatstone, whilst up a ladder trying to secure the car port roof - Happy days :)

    Its so typical isn' it!

The roads are starting to flood here, the rain is actually being driven under my relatively new patio doors and it looks like a bin and recycling hurricane outside!

Have any wind warnings be given out for south coast do you know? cos i ahvent seen any? or is eveyone so pre occupied with snowmagedon "up north" that they failed to mention the hurricane like winds currently lashing the crap out of the southeast corner!?

I don't think there are any wind warnings today which is quite a surprise as the gusts are 50 to 60mph now in our corner of the world. Very unpleasant drive up to Ashford earlier, the wind was only noticeable when I got back to nearly New Romney. Fingers crossed for the recycling bins and few are already leaving home in our road

I know right...walking my kids to the  school bus was bloody awful this morning, horizontal rain, its stupid windy out, i said to my eldest if it was cold enough this rain would hve been heavy snow and would have caused an awesome snow blizzard with massive snow drifts...

Am proper gutted all we got was rain, again.

5 Years now and fed up with chaing snow.

Im in the southeast Kent on Romney Marsh.

The joys of Marsh weather, yesterday a southerly gale with a bucket full of rain and today a north-easterly gale with a bucket full of rain, the temperature is dropping this morning down from 6c at 5am to 3.5c now but it's just making the rain colder.
