Meanwhile I’m depressing myself reading the New England thread on the USA’s equivalent to Netweather rack up pages every few minutes with the Buzz about the massive Nor’easter this weekend some throwing toys out the pram because they have been downgraded to only 10” of snow from 20” yesterday On the other hand some are now expecting 47” close to Boston MA
Any link to the thread @Crackerjack please.

Don't bother chasing the charts. I stayed up to see the weather for the week ahead on BBC that use Meteo.. Mild and wet, some snow in Scotland on high elevation as for down here it's Dry and a damp squid. I'm sure someone is tweaking them charts to get your hopes up. I'm well puddled of but it what it is.. Until the next time of model hunting I bid you all farewell and goodnight.

Just finished watching BBC wales regional forecast. Today showers of snow in most parts with a slight covering in places, weekend milder air trys to push east from the west but colder AIR WINS OUT.

Yeh we could get some as I just run the animation up to 11.40pm and they are not fizzing out at all and some streamers seem to build a little. I shall give it 50/50 will update if I see some snow falling.

God knows what they’re gonna say on the country file week ahead forecast about Thursday and Friday . They’ll probably speed up the graphics and quickly gloss over it
Quite a good forecast with snow maybe Friday with cold air winning out for the seeable future. Snow showers pushing east to west until then especially tomorrow and Tuesday.

Awesome to see you get your very first look at falling snow. I'm in Wales and had 2 shows of it so far and both on a Sunday. First attempt was OK and lasted for 3 days on the ground 2nd attempt a week back today was OK but was rather a blink and the covering was gone the next day. You lot are going to be spoilt and fair play you deserve it. Some streamers setting up all week and making it to us in the west and our better chance is Wednesday into Thursday but b4 then we are in the game.. Love to see some pics and videos tomorrow take care and enjoy from a cold but wet Taffy land

I can confirm it’s now snowing in the Elham valley. Temp is 1.2C.
How strong is the wind as in howling or just blowing? Also is the snow of powder or transient (wet and heavy) thanks

Itv regional forecast just now for Wales mentioned a possibility of SUBSTANTIAL snowfall for most parts of WALES next week where Atlantic low push up against very cold winds from the East.
So let's all sit back and watch the roller-coaster, Sunday looks quite promising for South East Wales

Fantastic reading in here about the snow in 82, 78 was better though if time serves me right. Anyhow just come out of the mad thread.. Flack me there are some amazing and top metreologists that come out with so much bull shat that makes me want to put my moneys worth in but to be honest I cannot be arsed with there running quotes of what I like to say.. All a bunch of Kents and Suffolk people in there playing with barbie and Ken. I just spent over an hour reading such drabble and some enjoying posts and I felt that the idiots that post such much tripe are the ones who on the very 1st lockdown went out and stripped the shelves of toilet paper and pasta.. They need to just cool down and think of others.. Any how this up and coming spell is going to be a good un and a remarkable one. This ain't going to be back to mild by this Thursday. Get the cold in and we are on to a very memorable event to talk about NG is looking good or should I say fantastic. Upgrades tomorrow from metoffice and LP slamming into very cold strong winds from Tuesday onwards. Its going to be a good 2 weeks of COLD LOCKED IN.

Unfortunately, I think this spell is going to be a big let down for us snow lovers in Wales, I don’t know why people are still confident that this will last on for some time on the other threads. A term ‘once the cold is in its hard to get rid of’ keeps popping up but this is not the case.
Nearly all models are clearly showing that the Atlantic will take a strong grip on our weather before it has time to snow from around the 11th Feb. I’m going to say we will see some snow to high ground (Brecon, north Wales, etc.) during that short battle between cold and mild but I think it will be mostly rain to most levels as that mild pushes in and takes over in quick time. If someone thinks different and has different proof then let me know because I’m all ears on this.
Yeh 'maybe for you as you are on the West Coast and it tends to be a little bit warmer there but I do think you will see falling snow next week and this cold is here in situ for definite. Don't feel downbeat as the future looks fantastic for coldies. Exiting times ahead.
