Biblical rain lasted about 10 minutes and now the lightning is moving away, it was most concentrated around Bath/Limpley Stoke about 2 miles west of me which probably explains why there was no gunshot booms of thunder but definitely some of the most frequent lightning.

2015 actually wasn't that good here, I'd prefer July 2014.

I wonder if these will expand as they move into central England?

Things kicking off around Weymouth, always a good sign for this area.

Getting excited now. Very still and quiet outside but so humid it feels like something has to happen.

It was hitting 140 strikes per min and it lost intensity in this regard and was peaking at 115 per min for a while and now hovering around 85 per min. I've seen French imports that have usually hit Kent only over the years that have had 3, 400 strikes per min at some points.
Oh down to 65 strikes per min now. What's happening?!
I remember the Bournemouth Storm in 2015 had over 350/min at one point

any one who is good at predicting, could i get confirmation for any action in kent, preferably Broadstairs thankyou
You may be too far east of the main activity but you're going to have to wait until things become more certain as no one is completely sure where they will hit tonight.

looks like a wall of rain to the west of me. Must be torrential under that
-
raining steadily here for past half an hour but not heavily.
-
So far disappointing here. We're just getting the drizzly edges of the cells passing to the west.

We still just have lots of cloud and rain from that front moving up : P
The main frontal rain has passed and now showers are developing. Although the tower I was watching collapsed
-
Suddenly lots of towers going up. Feels more convective now

First thunderstorm of the year here. About a dozen rumbles and some small hail. The main core of the storm passed just south of me.
-
Squall with torrential rain and then hours of moderate rain earlier today and now a torrential shower with hail.
15mm today
