  1. Well that was another bust for Essex! Woke up so the slightest of slight slush deposits on cars only and now it’s pouring with rain

Drove from Maldon to Basildon without seeing anything other than rain with a few flakes mixed in. Unless it’s an easterly it’s just a complete waste of time

This winter promised so much but has been an utter disappointment. Spring & Summer now please!

I can’t put any trust in these charts at all, they may as well not exist.

I’ve had 4 hours of heavy rain here tonight in Essex when these charts a few days ago were showing a decent snow event. I’ve not even made the transition to sleet!

Just checked the GFS, surprised there's not more talk about Tuesday and Wednesday evening next week, looks like there's plenty of potential for our part of the world. Wednesday looks like we could see a fair bit if things don't change too much (which it will)

This is what confuses me about the MOD thread. Everyone is always chasing day 10 charts showing Narnia and often ignore what is potentially coming up!

So in terms of us in the SE/EA are we still looking good for some snow next week?

You are rightly going to abuse me for this. Absolutely correct too.

But... There is a huge difference in the Griceland area at 42 hours on the pub run, pressure increasing and I feel this will be a very different run. Very very different.

**EDIT** Arctic high link up looks possible here now as early as T54

You shouted at shaky the other day for commenting on +72 of certain runs and saying let it run etc and now you’re scrutinising +42

We’ve all lost the damn plot

  5. I often wish we could go back to a day before the likes of these Netweather forums and being able to view charts etc.

In a matter of hours we’ve gone from a possible Narnia event to basically miserable winter dross and most posters in the MOD thread wanting to top themselves

I’ve lost count of the amount of times the models have shown epic wintryness only for us to end up with absolutely nothing, I’m fed up with the constant disappointments ☹️

I reakon I could scrape a frost tonight again 5.9c here...

UKMO 12z brings a lot of wintryness to the SE over the weekend ...

Steve is there any sign of some Warmth and Spring Sunshine? I'm a massive coldie but that's winter done now for me, and after working in the rain all day today I'm sick of it!

Really cannot wait now for some better weather.

Here is my two penneth on the mini beast which has bitten. Firstly for me this has been spectacular. I am utterly amazed at the strength of the easterly. At times it felt as cold as the first one.

To go from 15 degrees to 0 is something that really hasnt been spoken about since the 60's. The snow was great and on top of the table to read 4cm here in welling gob smacking for this late in the season. I wander where we go from here and this is a question i will pose in the mod thread later this week after 2 ssw does the climate automatically revert then to typical fair?

Indeed the temperature drop was somewhat remarkable for our shores! Such changes happen frequently in the US but for us I can't remember a drop in the last 30yrs from 14c on friday to 0c on Saturday with snow basically all day long.

It may have happened of course but if i did I can't recall it :)

  8. A good snow event for March, that can't be denied. However i do feel short changed aome what!

It's ironic how we had an Easterly flow, with moisture and yet parts of the Midlands have far more snow than us! We sat under thick cloud and snow all day yesterday but it was so light it could have snowed for a year and you still wouldn't have had enough for a snowman!

Midlands north were battered with constant heavy showers which continued all night long and showers are somewhat more exciting than a few flakes in the wind for 15 hrs.

Anyway we've had the best winter for snow since around 2010, in terms of number of falls. We must of had 8-10 separate falls now, granted not all settled but snow still fell.

Ready for spring now please! :)
