A cloudy day with some light showers or spots of rain. Normal temps
Max temp 8.2C, now 7.2C, Barometer 1005mb falling slowly, Wind F12 SE, Rainfall 0.2mm
Watched the eruption end today however it didn't half do an impressive flow rate of 600 m3/s overall. This time the Svartsengi shows a drop in height of 10cm. This didn't happen on the last eruption. So unless the flow into the chamber has ceased we'd probably waiting a couple of months for the next eruption.
The only reason why the barriers worked was because the eruptions were brief and short. A more prolonged eruption would easily overwhelm them as demonstrated in earlier eruptions.
A day of showery rain mostly light but some heavier burts. Average temperatures by day.
Max temp 6.1C, now 5.9C, Barometer 974mb steady, Wind Calm, Rainfall 20.6mm
Amazing how fast it was flowing. The eruption also probably indicates that previous lava fields weren't erupted in one go but with many small eruptions over time,

Which raises the question why did they re-open it. They got away with it today. The funny thing about the barriers they stopped at the road. Clearly they though Lava wouldn't use the road.
Eruption already dying down a lot.
