  8. Beautiful fog and frost, this morning. It was not forecasted for Thurrock and it came as a lovely surprise. The temperature is 4.0 Celsius and the humidity has gone done from 80% to 75%. The barometric pressure has risen to 1019.7.
  9. WALKING THE DOG IN NORWAY: On Nov. 27th, a minor stream of solar wind brushed Earth's magnetic field. In Tromsø, Norway, minor is often enough. "While out walking the dog, this amazing display appeared in the skies near my home," reports aurora tour guide Marianne Bergli.
  10. I saw a strange and unusual bright light coming from the sky, it is the rare sight of the sun. In the previous post, the below photo is my rain gauge.
  11. Time: 13:37 It is a dull, drizzly day with intermittent light to moderate rain fall. The temperature is 12.4°C and humidity is at 81% RH. The barometric pressure is falling at a steady pace and today's reading is 978.5 hPa.
  12. There is a stratus overcast sky which is making it dull and dank day. The temperature is at 11°C and humidity is at 80%. Visibility is poor as there is patchy mist. The barometric pressure has been steadily rising and is at 1001.2 at 09:54. I do not mind rain but I do not like the fine drizzle.
  13. Yesterday's temperature was 4° C with a light wind and some bright periods. There was fine drizzle from 10pm and at 8 am the back garden looked very wet. It finally stopped raining at 10:00 am. Last night's rain was not forecasted for Thurrock. I think Thurrock must have it's own micro climate.
  14. THE SOLAR WIND HAS ARRIVED: Earth is entering a stream of solar wind flowing from a sprawling hole in the sun's atmosphere. First contact with the gaseous material on Nov. 20th produced an outburst of auroras over Scandinavia. Markus Varik sends this picture from Tromsø, Norway:
  15. Thank you for sharing such beautiful poetry, you are very creative and very talented poet.
  16. Early on in the morning, there was a light to moderate frost. There was lovely sunshine but sadly it did not last long. There was no sign of any early morning fog. Last night, I had a rare treat of seeing a clear night's sky showing a good number of stars and planets. In Thurrock there is a horrible brown/purple haze (looks like clouds) which always appears due to pollution. The temperature at 11:32 am is 6.1°C and the humidity is at 76%. The barometric pressure is steadily rising and is at 1014.6.
  17. THE MAGNETIC AFTERGLOW OF A SOLAR WIND STREAM: This weekend, Arctic skies turned green as a minor stream of solar wind buffeted Earth's magnetic field. Chris Hodgson photographed the geomagnetic glow on Nov. 17th from Abisko, Sweden:
  18. There has been decreases in snow cover for Scandinavia and for Russia but the sea ice is still steadily increasing.
  19. The sea ice is continue to increase but the snow seems to have stalled in Russia.
  20. Slight increase of sea ice and small decreases of snow. Scandinavia and parts of Scotland are still holding on to a good cover of snow. The snow that fell in Wales has not appeared on any other of the previous snow and ice chart maps.
  21. Even it is raining, it has not stopped Fireworks from being left off. The fireworks sound like a low rumble of bangs with intermittent fizzy sounds.
  22. The time 6:15 pm and it is still raining. The rain is light but continuous. My five large planters are being drowned in rain water. The temperature has slightly raised and is at 8.7°C and the humidity has increased from 74% to 75%. The barometric pressure is still continue to fall and it is at 999.7 hPa.
