This time last year such a slack flow from the North would barely have delivered minus 5 uppers. But because of the last cold spell being so severe sea temps have dropped quite a bit meaning the much colder uppers are able to flood South
The GEM isn't great and the ukmo is poorer than this morning. So for me it's a move sideways and nothing is resolved. The gfs is better and the best way forward but needs support!
Indeed Crewe and we were staring at a big orange blob 10 days ago that was going to knock out the vortex for January. Why should it be correct now?
I think the charts for Christmas period are upgrading hour by hour and a white one is quite possible
What is going on with ecm, top of its ensembles almost every night. What with the upgraded gfs performing poorly we seem to be gone backwards with these models of late!!
The main trend this evening for me is stronger heights over Greenland and to our North which helps nudge everything further South. We are not there yet but certainly going in the right direction!! The situation is ripe with potential!
