Exact same temp and dew p as me atm lol
Well, I am using this weather station: http://www.hillviewweather.co.uk/ so could explain why. Couldn't find one for Uxbridge so Harrow is the nearest, can't imagine there's too much difference!
-
Temperature now plummeting, down to 3.3c and DP down to 2.5. Hopefully see some of the white stuff for a good 30-45 minutes later

About expected, there should be a sharp drop in temperatures and dew points between 16:00 - 17:00

Gritters have NO chance this eve
rain to snow means the rain washes away the grit & when it snows theres not enough time to recover anything other than major roads = Chaos
looking out the window here in Eltham pondering the journey home @615 secretly hoping to get stuck
if not a snow drive to bluebell hill !
Hi Steve
Any chance this may slow down as it moves South East?
Cheers

Any chance this could slow down as it moves South East?

Jo Farrow mentioned on the Cold Spell thread that it's slightly slower moving to the South East than forecasted yesterday

Wrong or not thats a piece of weather porn right there. I am easily pleased
Like I said, not sure of it's accuracy as I've never used the premium version before (Am I allowed to even talk about it on here?) but it shows Bedford (More to the South and West) turning into Snow. Fingers crossed for you!
-
Not sure how accurate RainToday Premium is but their radar shows huge blobs of snow over the Chilterns, MK, Luton and Bedford forming between 1630-1730. Also another blob of snow just South West of Guilford.

@Buzzit. Thank you. Forgot to add..
If it don't snow.. Get ready for "told you so" posts later on.
No mate, you know zero about weather and just this time it didn't go in our favour
How welcoming for the new posters
Currently down to:
5.1°C
Dew Point:4.2°C

Latest forecast from the BBC has very little in the way of snow unfortunately, the further South and East you are the longer it'll last but looks to clear the region a lot earlier than predicted.

Met office forecast has just reduced to perhaps an hour of snow
Yep, if that. Once it turns to snow it'll quickly move off. Was to be expected though and should at least make peoples journeys home a lot easier.

Flights cancelled at Heathrow ahead of severe warning for snow - Get West London
https://apple.news/ASLeZ1WT7T_CmI0oQyvIdkQIndeed, which is why I think they might be on the end of some stick later on tonight.

Think Heathrow airport might be on the end of some stick come the end of the evening/

Or not
Looks like Heathrow might get a bit but it will be very short lived, perhaps an hour at most.
-
Further South East you are to the region the more you'll see, certainly think a lot of us will see something. Think NW London will see a good 30-45 minutes of snow before it clears away which is certainly better than nothing!

Temps dropping here in West London, down from 6.1c to 5.7c

Good morning, south eastern contingent.
Just poped in quick.
This morning s 6z gfs has potentially the sharpest cold spell/incursion for our little part of the world in many 'a' moons -12/14 850hpas looking distinctive as we move through next week with ample opportunities for convection= precipitation in snow flurry/shower penertation.
I'll pop back in later as we move towards a possible back edgr conversion to "at least" falling snow this evening/ tomorrow. ..still lots of resolve on this yet. ..have a good en.
Fingers crossed we see a bit this evening fellow Uxbridgian!
-
I work just down the road from Heathrow and I've already seen extremely angry passengers at the local Underground Station (Uxbridge) seeing that there flights have been delayed.

It looks like the low is forecast to be weaker the previously modelled, hence a more Southerly track, less precipitation and less cold air being drawn in, let's hope this changes in the coming hours.
Yep, certainly not as good as we all hoped but we all knew this could happen. Plenty to look forward to after this so not all is lost
-
Is XC Weather still the best way to watch the cold come in from the north?

I think the likely outcome is rain with a spell of snow on the back edge. Little chance of accumulations. Still, will be nice to see some flakes at last!
Exactly this, unfortunately there's going to be a few disappointed people who have built up tomorrow to be much more than it is.

Temps seem warm, the snow will not settle, just cause travel chaos?
At first it won't but as the colder air pushes south and the temps start to drop it could happen, probably looks at 5pm onwards for any type of settling snow, albeit limited as it clears away.
That forecast seems to have that band a lot further north than what's been shown on the model outputs, be interesting to watch none the less.
