Very light squally snow showers here in Northeast Powys, which is a good sign as was all rain here last night

Some very light snow showers here in North Powys.....which is a good sign, as they were all rain here last night! ...very very windy and squally though!
-
Yeah I mentioned that last night as well. I don't mean to sound like i'm being petty but how can Glossop be classed as the Midlands? It's 10 miles East of Manchester!
Some will probably think "well you can't talk, you are from Oxford and posting in a Midlands thread!" But I post in here and the 'South West & Central Southern' thread. I still think Oxford is Central enough to be classed as Midlands though.
I am from East Wales, and I post in here (I am not far from Oswestry and Shrewsbury) and I post on the Wales thread

Just torrential sleety rain showers here in north east Powys. I think its very marginal, elevation is going to be key in tonight's setup.

Heavy rain shower here in north Powys, hope you guys in the midlands can hold onto the colder air.
-
Torrential rain here 15 miles northwest of Shrewsbury...todays snow disappearing fast!
-

-
moderate snow in east wales now, which comes after a period of freezing rain.

-
2 to 4 inches here in East Wales (depending on surfaces) but currently freezing rain pingin on the windows!
-
starting to settle here now, going to be very uneven cover in all this wind though
-
just sleety rain here at the mo
snowing to the east of me in the midlands now!
-
Rain has been trying to turn to snow for about an hour, its pretty much succeeded but the ground is very wet and it doesnt seem cold enough tbh.
Just driven through Shrewsbury bout half hour ago; very heavy snowfall on the western edge of town, with about a couple of centimeters lying. just drizzle here 15 mile northwest of Shrews.
-
Snow stopped, never turned to rain although a bit of hail towards the end. About 2cm lying - will it stay though as it seems to be getting warmer
Its transitioned here from snow, to hail/ice pellets - walking in it felt like a fair bit of rain in there..... in the town center where I am a walk through the local big park (the quary) shows that almost all the snows been washed away... yes you may get some good burst of snow that may give a covering, but slowly the rains on the way too...
Sorry!
We have had light rain for about an hour here now, 15 miles NW of Shrewsbury and our 3/4cm has been melting quite fast; it has reduced in depth by to about 1 to 1.5cm on most surfaces, and completely gone off roads and pavements!
-
smaller flakes here now in east wales, and seems much wetter now too. the snow on the road has melted and big puddles are appearing. the snow cover elsewhere is not getting any deeper...i suspect it is melting faster than the rate it is falling! i think the end is in sight for here now. Am sure you than many of you guys in the mids will get a few centimeters from this afternoon though. Good luck folk
-
low lying areas of south Wales now reporting sleet and rain, stil snow further north. i think you guys in the mids will do better the further north and west you are.
-
Moderate snow again. Huge flakes = Sleet then rain imminent.
I had huge flakes bout 15 mins ago, now much smaller but stil very heavy.....so dont dispare, you might have several hours of snow yet.
Bout 2cm here now.
-
When the flakes get big the rain will soon follow, enjoy while it lasts!
yes i know, its true! stil its adding to the depth, and all looks very pretty out there now.
-
really heavy again here! huge flakes..lovely to watch!
-
very heavy here in northeast powys now, huge flakes! even the road is white over now!....tis quite wet stuff like!
-
the gap has closed......heavy again here now!
-
stopped here now in northeast powys, in the 'gap' just waiting for the heavier stuff coming off the Irish sea! hope the covering doesnt melt before then!
-
stopped snowing here now, we are in the'gap' here now...not far off the heavier band to the west of the mountains!
-
gone very light here now, bout a 0.5cm covering! lol...i think the main stuff is stil out in the Irish sea...lets hope it stil falls as snow!
