  1. Arctic day up temps mostly around 5-7C but very cold northerly biting. In the few sunny intervals felt nice enough out of the wind. Managed first cut of grass albeit in thick coat and hat. Quite happen with hitter. Old in the winter but this constant cold is getting tad wearing. Was going to say at least it’s dry but I hear rain now on the roof window…
  2. Heading north to the calm of the Highlands. Stopped overnight at Annandale Days Inn, always a pleasant wander around the lock. Dry but chilly start to proceedings this morning.
  3. Cold raw back at home with hail and sleet last couple days. I was getting desperate for warmth and sun so down seeing family in France. After couple warm sunny days we now have cold raw winds here too goddam it. Photos were last weekend.
  4. Bitter bitter cold day here, probably coldest it’s felt since December, light snow falling this afternoon rushed along on the icy ne winds. Windchill of minus 2 this afternoon but it felt worse.
  5. Bit slow on updates, yesterday several wintry showers mostly of fine snow, just 100 foot lower in bottom field just rain. This morning started with a dusting of snow much to the annoyance of the ducks Hansel & Gretel, the ducks in first photo. Snow started again 10ish before quickly turning to sleet then sleety rain before somewhat surprisingly rapidly turning to heavy large flaked snow this afternoon. IMG_1477.MOV
  6. Eleven years ago today when I still lived at Ballaleigh between Peel and Kirk Michael on the west of the Isle of Man we had an epic blizzard resulting in the scenes below. That is a full size motor home below my hound. The last snow drift on Sartfell which is only 1600 odd feet high lasted for 89 days.
  7. Stormy day yesterday with heavy squally showers with mix of snow flakes sleet and hail, slushy deposits now and again temp at 3pm 1.7C, more heavy showers overnight 20mm rainfall everywhere sloppy again. Pigs have stayed in bed as still wet and windy this morning.
  8. Shocking news from Rheanbreck we have daffodil out at last yesterday, there were some out lower down in Lairg a few days ago but we have one or two out at last. Nice day today although I missed it as away looks less benign from now until after Easter.
  9. Better day up here, quite pleasant in sunny breaks this morning helping temperatures up to the dizzy heights of 9.7C , cloudy this afternoon but good outdoor day unlike for you poor souls further south.
  10. First day for several days able to venture out without being swathed in 5 layers and thickest of hats as bitter easterly finally abated. Even a few brighter spells this morning helping to push temps up to 10.3c. Last nights brief rain gave fresh covering of snow to the higher hills to the sw.
  11. Cold and raw Saturday with wet snow off and on, better since frosty mornings and decent spells of snow which, if you can out of the biting se wind has a bit of warmth to it.
  12. Minus 6 yesterday morning then a glorious day until heavy showers late afternoon, very icy this morning with loads black ice but sunny skies although clouds gathering to the west heralding the coming change Good covering of snow on higher hills prob above 2000 ft.
  13. Mild pleasant day yesterday mostly dry until rain arrived early evening. Pic caught the approaching weather front nicely.
