    Heavier band is now overhead and it's proper chucking it down. Glad I'm leaving work later today as should have cleared off by then rather than driving through it!

    Very dark on Bedminster down and the squall line just a few miles away. Waiting for the heavens to open!

    Radar showing a pretty grim looking squall line currently over Devon and Wales inbound for the Bristol area. Be interesting to see what that brings!

    In the squall in Bristol and the sky went pitch black before the heavens opened! Really heavy rain. Think I'd best find an outboard motor for my car to get me home haha!

    Interesting squall line that's just developed from Gloucester down to Exeter. Was pretty heavy rain in Bristol for about 30 mins!

    Heavy rain on Bedminster down but no thunder. Has given everything a soaking though so will be a fun commute home to Stoke Gifford!

    Currently quite persistent rain at Bedminster down. Skies look pretty convective though and the rain has been sharp at times. No thunder just yet though.

    Interesting! Had some welcome rain on my commute to work from Stoke Gifford to Bedminster down. Not particularly heavy but has given everything a good soaking, wet roads etc. Just what the plants needed! Hoping for some storms at some point. The Bristol storm shield has worked too well this year.

    IT'S RAINING SIDEWAYS! Quite squally weather here on Bedminster Down, winds are pretty strong and the rain heavy. From what I've seen on the radar though, worse is yet to hit. Not sure whether I'll be driving home or if I will need that outboard motor!

    Looks like a small storm has popped up around Taunton and from current trajectories, might have my name on it Round 2!

    I was pleased that the Bristol storm shield failed last night. Had a little bit of thunder and lightning around half midnight with some really heavy rain drops but that was a drop in the ocean in comparison to the hour and a bit long storm that rolled in around 4:30. Really tired today now but worth it!

    Looks like Cornwall is due a hammering in the next couple of hours. That cell from Biscay is certainly pepping up a little!

    I'm taking it Bristol would be pretty much ruled out of this at the moment then? Metoffice warnings are away from here but it's another very hot, very humid and cloudless day here.

    Just caught sight of a 'Severe Weather Updates 2017' page on Facebook who are predicting Supercells and Tornadoes for the UK with these storms.....

    I'm really hoping to get a good storm here in Bristol today but the storm risk has shifted to tomorrow on Netweather's forecast. It was showing a 67% risk for today but now it's zero. The Met Office and others though seem convinced we may have something here a bit later today. Will be watching the skies whilst sat at my desk in work, mainly because I've left the windows and sunroof open on my car haha!

    *checks Bristol weekend forecast* 80% storm risk for Saturday 10:00-13:00 *tries not to get excited* Really hope this carries through and we get a good storm! No doubt, I will wake up saturday morning to 0% storm risk XD
