Right back in the car heading up to the local view point

It was always going to be messy convection - was hoping the storms would fire first, but I’ve watched cells collapsing for a couple of hours now.
Holding out for something to kick this all into gear before 10pm...
That would be good, plenty of old anvil gubbins heading up from the South now, but you never know.

See that first ledge? I walk all the way around that, in to the bay the other side, then around to the second ledge - great fishing around there.
Probably take a look one day, always enjoy finding new places in the area

The messy stratus and Cumulus feeding in from the East are getting quite big now with dark bases, still not convinced that they will turn into the area of storms forcast, wait and see. Fairly dramatic though.

On the cliff top at Kimmeridge now, mainly wind swept Cumulus/stratus passing briskly to the SSW although some of the Cumulus are quite active, still warm for location. Looking South it's hazy, but hoping with the help of my polarised sunnys to start picking up some more unstable mid level stuff from the South. Note to self should have worn long trousers, bugs here are hungry!

I'd probably park up at Creech hill - much higher.
Plus, you won't have to pay the toll charge.
Thanks for the tip I'll look it up

Warm 26c, humid and breezy here, a mixture of Alto cumulus and Alto stratus cloud moving in over head, nothing dramatic yet.
So I've decided to drive to Kimmeridge bay in the Purbecks and get there for about 5-6pm. Find a decent spot and watch the cloud scapes from there.

Hello! Intensification to North of Poole, getting darker.

A hazy line of small but convective looking alto cumulus coming up over the Southern horizon here in Poole
-
Just had a short heavy shower, heading just North of west (I'm in Poole) wouldn't be surprised if they developed

CG's seen on the horizon South of me here in Poole, thunder just now too!

Yeah same here in Poole, thunder and lightning ever 2 minutes or so but not showing on the lightening detector.

Hi all, I'm new to Netweather and this is my first post. Just wanted to quickly introduce myself, I've been a weather nut most of my life and enjoy anything from winter gales to snow to catching the first glimps of Altocumulus castellanus.
Last night I watched the best night time storm here (Poole) for two years, as I'm sure many of you on here did also to. Such a curious and exciting event, lightening every second, from cells reaching from my South to the NW and really very little rain.
Hoping tomorrow will bring something, though I'm not expecting anything on last nights scale.

The cell over the channel, South of Poole is letting out strikes every 3 or 4 seconds, heading North west in believe.
