Not sure of the accuracy of this but have an app called lightning alarm which seems to be picking up more sferics than blitzortung (or lightning maps although that seems to be down at the mo)

Thoughts on those storms reaching the NW?
Incredibly fresh out there and doesn’t feel stormy at all but current track makes me want to leave my phone on loud to be woken by the blitzortung app (much to the dismay of the Mrs)

Apologies if this has been discussed already, but what are the steering winds for the storms along the South Coast? And how fast are these stroms moving?
To my untrained eye, radar returns and recorded strikes suggest N or NNE, but forward movement seems minimal.

Evening all, hope everyone is well - great to be a part of the forum on nights like this!
Fantastic to see so many strikes across the South Coast and north east of London.
A noticeable breeze here this evening when I popped out for a smoke earlier.
Not confident we'll see something here in the early hours or tomorrow afternoon but great to see reports and pictures of storms nonetheless!

A few towers going up directly overhead with dark bases, but not expecting anything here this evening

Storm died a death before reaching here towards Wilmslow. Ended up with a few minutes of moderate rain.
Still looking and feeling very convective out there.
