  1. Sun has broken down the cloud here somewhat but is still mostly cloudy,no blue sky to be seen.
  2. Judging by the direction you seem to be facing (NE from Banbury?) it could well be the back edge of the Melton/Leicester cell?
  3. Could see some nice towers to my south a few minutes ago, which I'm guessing is the stuff NE of Sheff.
  4. More thunder from south/west of Wakefield, that second cell about to explode?
  5. We had about 10 mins torrential rain here in Crofton,E of Wakefield, plenty of thunder on approach but has calmed somewhat in the following mins.
  6. Constant rumbling started south of Wakefield in the last 2 mins. Coming from the Barnsley cell
  7. Yep,nicely building right over my head around 4 miles east of Wakefield
  8. Crystal clear skies and nice heat here in Wakefield now after some murk early on,will see if anything develops.
  9. Hard to believe it started life as a small cell around York area and went mental when it hit the north sea,so close yet so far!
  10. Haha, thanks, think it was the forums way of telling me to go to bed!! Never again will I attempt to spell that place in North Lincs that begins with S and ends in E lol
  11. OK,clearly that's just making me look like I've been drinking something strong (wish I had!),lets just say there's activity around Hull!
  12. OK....so my post won't edit for me (at least it seems that way),but for Sbad Wordhope read "Sbad wordhorpe"!
  13. Steady rain for 15 mins now as the one that was working it's way from NWales comes down onto the Aire/Calder plains,it's coming with quite a cool breeze, and just doesn't seem to be doing much (at the moment). Will post if I hear/see anything otherwise locally.
  14. Blue (very milky) skies returning now over Wakefield for the first time since about 15:00......
  15. Completely flat grey now E of Wakefield, waiting on the stuff coming from the west to see what happens later I think. No brightness at all and drizzle atm.
  16. Completely cloud covered again E of Wakefield, can see the darkening skies coming from the Peak District but nothing of note as per @Mark Griffin post.
  17. First post on here... Plenty of gaps in the cloud to the south and east of Wakefield now, compared to complete cover earlier (albeit very milky blue),it's become hotter and more humid over the last 2 hours but not overwhelmingly so (humidity still seems to be rising, now at a quicker rate though). Looking at the various posts on here looks like I'm right in the firing line in the next few hours if it comes off.... As I've been typing it seems some more defined clouds are beginning to form S of Wakefield.
